Still 17th (14 days until Miguel meets Elm)
“Hey? Sorry about that, let’s continue?” Miguel said, each word spoken like he was questioning whether reality existed.
“If you are okay saying it, what was that about?” Eric questioned, trying to map out whether he would become the third wheel at lunch.
“I-um it’s really not that important, don’t sweat it…” as those words passed Miguel’s (hot ass) lips, Eric felt a wave of admiration for the other man. ‘Most high school guys would brag a bit about having someone like then, but Miguel was being the perfect gentleman, and not speaking of the matter,’ thought Eric ‘Although, that could just mean that he hasn’t chosen how to reply yet. Which could mean they are going to get together…’
They reached the french classrooms, and returned the textbook. “Merci Monsieur. Ça va?"
"Bein, bonne journée!" The teacher said, dismissing them from his room.
“W-we sh-should probably get over to class?” Eric said, checking the time on his phone with a faint blush. “Yeah class starts soon…”
“Okay, let's go.”
**
“Alright class, please do pay attention, I have important information,” their poor, abused, maths teacher pleaded, “Please, two minutes, just two minutes, for goodness’s sake, please! Just for a tiny ass bit?”
The class quieted down a bit, for most of them still had small shreds of human decency left, the rest quieted too after they realized they were the only ones talking, and they did not want everyone in class to know about their IUD and how their boyfriend knocked it into their uterine wall, or how they totally have the hots for their French teacher.
“Alright kids, we are having a test next week on Friday. That means you have exactly seven days to study. If you study in pairs it will be more effective than studying alone. If you do not study you will fail for sure, now I will go over what will be on the test.”
As the teacher continued, Eric and Miguel both turned to look at the other, and nodded, a silent agreement to study together formed.
**
“Your house or mine for our first study sesh?” Miguel asked.
“Would you mind mine? I feel calmer when I am in my own room, is that okay?” Eric said, a small blush once again appearing.
“I’d actually prefer that too, thank you, does today work?” Miguel asked.
“Yurp.”
“Great! Where do you want to meet after school?”
“How about, my car, it’s parked… it’s like a 20 minute walk, want to take your car?”
“Yeah, I parked it by the language wing. I can just meet you outside of your Spanish class? My French teacher usually lets us out early.”
“Okay, thanks.”
“Great, see you then, I need to make an appearance elsewhere,” Miguel said, for he had promised Evan that they could hangout.
“See you then!” Eric said, now used to Miguel needing to socialize with others.
**
“Hey, Evan. How is your da-” Miguel began, interrupted in surprise when Evan hugged him.
“Hi,” Evan said with a big adorable smile.
“How is your day going?” Miguel said, rubbing the back of his neck, while his blush formed.
“Pretty good, and yours?”
“It’s going well too. Definitely better now that you are here,” Evan said, winking and laughing at his own corny joke.
“OH MY, CRINGE!” Miguel groaned, looking up and curling his hands, attempting to show a physical level of painful cringe.
“Oh, fuck you!” Evan laughed, playfully slapping Miguel’s arm, pretending to be mad.
“Did you get your essay turned in on time?"
“Yeah, the teacher said we would get them back next week. Thanks again!”
“Yeah it was no problem,” Miguel said, shrugging it off.
“No for real, you are a lifesaver,” Evan said.
“I have an odd question that you can answer to pay me back. How many days until the end of the month?” Miguel nervously inquired, trying to find signs of Evan being the one he was looking for.
“14 days, including today, why?”
“N-nothing. I was… it’s nothing,” Miguel said, a ghost smile on his face.
