“You are him? You are right? You have to be!”
Shocked by the boy’s sudden question, Miguel sat in shock before attempting to ask, “Wait, Evan do you mean am I-”
Before Miguel could finish his question he felt Evan’s lips on his. Evan brought his lips away for a second, he looked at the bark, before looking back up. Evan grabbed the collar of Magnolia’s shirt, pulling him into another rather one-sided kiss. Evan gently suckled at Miguel’s lips, expecting a reaction at some point, but Miguel continued to sit there like a stone statue.
All Miguel could think was ‘I feel nothing but warmth and slimy friction on my lips. Is this what kissing is supposed to feel like? Am I going to get pimples because of all the spit around my mouth? Wait why am I thinking about something like that right now? The person who is most likely Elm is kissing me right now, but I don’t feel anything… maybe he isn’t Elm? Maybe I was just confused about my feelings for Elm? Maybe he just shows a different side in person than via letter? But wait would that mean that although I love the witty and other things in his letters I do not love him? No, I love him, so how is this happening? More importantly, shouldn’t I pull away to show that I don’t enjoy this? ’
After Miguel made up his mind, putting his hands on Evan’s shoulders, he used them to push away from the smaller male. He could only say “I am sorry, sorry, sorry,” as he continued away. He quickly jumped down, bracing his knees, when he hit the ground he could do nothing but walk away, ignoring Evan’s cries of “Wait Miguel, I am sorry too, I shouldn’t have kissed you!”
Miguel sped up, even though he knew that Evan wouldn’t follow him. He went to his next class to confused to think about who he was going to meet at lunch, as he had been speculating about for weeks, only able to think of how he had probably just rejected that same person.
In a daze, Miguel got out of his seat after class, spit words out, without considering the words. “I have to go to Percy Jackson club see you later.”
“Umm okay?” Eric replied, but Miguel was already on his way towards the library simply wanting to confirm his worst fears.
He made it to the library roof first and sat at the corner out of sight from the door, Elm would have to look around a bit to find him. The roof was empty because it was technically off-limits, and the only door was guarded by librarians who only let their favorite students up.
He almost groaned when he heard the door open then slam shut.
He saw a short, blond, boy had come out, and he almost began to fume with anger. He stood up calling out the shorter boy’s name.
