I shot up, immediately realizing it was just a dream. Turning toward the clock I noticed it was 4:00 am. ‘Oh my god yes! Today is the day!’ I couldn’t have felt more excited. I shot up, grabbed the towel from my door hanger, and zoomed to the bathroom to take a quick shower. ‘I haven't seen him all summer’. Excitement built up as I hurried through my shower and walked back to my room to see my familiar pink bed and blue walls. I walked over to the closest to grab my first day outfit, something I had picked out earlier that week; A black dress with flowers on it and some ankle boots, and after I was dressed, I curled my blond hair. I stared at the mirror in the bathroom to see the same pale skinned girl with blond hair, green eyes and smiled. It’s me...
“Ashlie!” I heard a shout. I ran up the stairs in my boots with my army green backpack on my back. My mother, who had adorned black hair and green eyes, scolded me as I came close to the last step on the stairs.
“Yes?” I asked nervously.
“Go eat before your food gets cold" She said pointing at the table. I could already see Andy sitting and eating his share. I sat beside him and began to eat the pancakes my mom made.
“You ready to go?” Andy half excitedly, half dreadingly asked as he stared at me while I took my last bite. In return I shot him a glare.
“Yes.” I growled as he laughed knowing I hate being stared at. We got up to obediently clean our dishes, but my mother stopped us and held out her hands.
“Go to school, I got this" She said with a smile. We smiled back handing her the dishes and ran outside towards the bus stop. The bus was already there so we ran faster in hopes that the bus driver would notice us, which he did. We ran onto the bus, Andy sat up front and I moved all the way to the back, sitting at the last seat. I sat down feeling awkward about the dress because I rarely wear dresses unless I have to, but today for the first day of school, and my two best friends passive aggressively told me to dress up today. But I don’t really mind it once in a while so it's nice to wear one. I stared up as the bus stopped to pick up the most important student I was excited for. A dirty blond hair guy jumped onto the bus and smiled as he saw me. I got up to let him in by the window.
“Miss me?” Dakota teases. I rolled my eyes
“No, of course I wouldn't!” I laughed which made him shoot a playful glare.
“Oh really, In that case I might as well go up front” He said slowly pushing me out of his way.
“Nooooo, I'm sorry. I missed you like a lot!” I cried which made him laugh and gave me a tight hug.
“I love you Dork" He laughed as I listened to his heartbeat.
“I love you too" I breathed.
“How was your summer?” He asked. I knew he wouldn't have missed me as much as I miss him because his whole summer he was so busy with his family while I just worked and hung out with my family…
“You know like every other summer" I teased. He laughed a little while hugging me tighter. The bus stopped making us jump up to get off. The bus driver seemed really annoyed as we got off. Dakota jogged up to catch me as I went through the school doors to grab my hand. Everyone didn't seem to care about our existences.
