The club was dark, her eyes needing time to adjust. It was the opposite of what Fae was used to. She was planning to go to an Art Gallery. Fae instead turned to her other group members. Heads and eyes unable to focus in one position. Fae thought of leaving them. But the sight behind her and the stories of girls getting drugged on the News made her change her tune.
She caught the attention of the bartender. His green iris's shining in the low-light. Biting her lip and trying to play coy by pushing her chin down and raising her eyes, maybe tonight wouldn't be a bust? She opened her mouth to flag him down and warm liquid exploded onto her back. She froze and made eye contact with the Bartender, his look of interest turned to disgust. Fae whipped around and both the sight and smell hit her at the same time. The sickly sweetness of fruity alcoholic beverages and the sight of her group mate leaned over clutching their mouth.
By the time she got into the Uber she had gotten cleaned up with a lost and found jacket. The bright blue a contrast against the white snow. She shoved the girls into the backseat all blubbering apologies. Fae refused to look at them, instead waiting for the ride to end.
She could feel the Driver's eyes on her and she turned ready to tell him off. Before she could say anything he offered her a bottle. Her mouth already dry from the alcohol she took it. Anger consumed her thoughts she didn't think to check the bottle. As she gulped it down the sight of the label and the smiling upside down moon looked at her almost sinister.
When she woke. It was dark. She blinked a few times and pain shot through her head. The sound of metal against metal grated against her ears. It was the construction workers. But, what were they doing out so late? She turned her head and pain shot through her neck. She must've overdone the drinks, unable to remember how she got home. She sat up the feeling of her blankets guiding her in the dark. She turned kicking her legs off the bed and in the faint distance her alarm sounded off.
Confusion shot through Fae. It wasn't 7AM yet. She had just gotten home, it was still dark outside. She tried blinking a few more times. Her pupils should've expanded enough for light to reach the cones in her eyes. She stumbled to the bathroom. She knew it by heart. Two steps to the right after you pass the bed. The shelves next to her door and the low green painted handle. She reached the handle, opened the door and flicked on the light switch with her left hand. She gasped. Flicking the switch again. Down. Up. Off. ON Nothing registered in her occipital lobe. She brought her hands up to her face. Where eyelid and lashes once where, smooth skin sat unblemished.
