The benefits of eating like an animal

The benefits of eating like an animal

Feb 20, 2020

It was lucky that they managed to kill all of them before they could attack us. They are level 24, three levels higher than us. I was not able to see what their skills were and am very glad that we did not have to find out. I had not noticed it earlier, with all the damage he had taken from the foxes, but Pettran is good with that spear of his. He can use it quickly and puts some serious force behind his blows. Anise had gotten to her feet and instead of grabbing her quarterstaff she pulled out a knife. Pettran grabbed the Raiders he killed and tossed them to Anise who expertly began to skin the dead animals. A quick look showed that Russell was already doing the same to the burned felines that we killed. They only kept the fur of the least burned one, just singed, they had managed to roll in damp enough dirt to put out the flames. I check on the dings from earlier, I am eager to see what I got for killing and helping to kill a group of such high level creatures. Kitsune Form level 7-8, Kitsune Form level 8-9, so close, so very close to level ten. I looked at the discarded meat and had an idea. My Form Levels raise a lot faster than all of my other skills and actual levels. Creatures level up so quickly, it seems that the forms that I spend most time and eat in have the highest levels. What if I eat some high level meat in my White Tailed Fox Form? It will be the best way to determine if eating creatures gives me exp for my form. With a thought I changed back to my White Tailed Fox Form. I reached for the discarded meat and took a few bites. “What are you doing Elise?” Russell asked, stopping his skinning. I said nothing as I ate a few more pieces of raw meat. Russell sighed and went back to work. I watched my exp for my form and watched as it rose by ten points. So yes the meat of creatures does give exp when I eat it. I don’t think that I get the exp when I eat meat as a human. No wonder creatures level up so quickly, they get exp a lot more easily. Aha! Now I just need to eat in my canine form, whatever form I want to level up. No wonder my German Shepherd Form is my highest level. I ate more than a few of my meals while in my German Shepherd From. I ate a lot of food in the early days in my Kitsune Form. I think only the low level of the creatures that I was eating that kept my Kitsune Form from becoming my highest leveled form. I ate all of the discarded meat in my White Tailed Fox Form to raise the level. It was not good. Raw meat tastes bad and I had already eaten. I thought that I was going to throw up by the time that I finished. Luckily only the meat that had been damaged was thrown out, the rest was kept, probably so Russell can cook it for dinner tonight.

“What are you two doing in these parts?” Anise asked as we headed out of the clearing before the smell of food and blood could attract more creatures. “Elise is collecting Canine Forms. I heard about the Red Wolves and Grey Paws that live in these parts and since we were close by we came into these woods to see if we can collect more forms for her. I also wanted to take a closer look at some of the rarer plants and herbs that are supposed to grow in these woods.” Russell said, still not looking at either Anise or Pettran. Pettran and Anise were quiet for a while as we all walked off into the woods. I don’t know if Russell has noticed or not but we are following the two of them. “We live around here and know the terrain very well. We know how to get to the lake where most of the Red Wolves are denning. If you want we can take you there. We owe you two for the meal and the medical help.” Anise offered. Pettran let out a displeased hiss. She turned and glared at him. “We do owe him, and they might be able to help, so it is not a waste of our time.” He just sighed and shook his head. “I think that you are being stupid. You trust too easily Anise.” He hissed under his breath. I probably would not have heard him if I did not have my super enhanced hearing. That man does not trust us, at all. He is very careful to not look at Russell, he kept sneaking glances at Anise and I, but very carefully was not looking at Russell. There is something going on here. Maybe there is some tension between them over the whole Dark and Wood Elf thing. Anise doesn’t seem to have a problem, but she seems to be a very happy and trusting woman. Pettran might have a good reason to be so worried about her. Why are they out here? Pettran knows how to use his weapon and is not afraid to take the initiative, but Anise does not seem to be a fighter. She is not too bad with her staff, but she is no great fighter. I noticed during the fights today that her first reaction to a situation is not to fight. She did not even reach for her staff when the Raiders attacked. She had taken a deep breath as if she was going to say or sing something. I get the feeling that she is more of a support character than a fighter. Why would they take her out here, just the two of them? I said nothing as Pettran and Anise changed direction. They are taking us where we want to go, we will figure out what they want later. For now Russell and I just followed.
