Badru Dakeyo

Badru Dakeyo has been a major figure in the study of witchbeasts, magic capable animals intelligent enough to actively cast spells. While studying the behavior of a troop of gorillas lead by a witchbeast, Dakeyo discovered the lead male carried a small glowing frog with it everywhere. He witnessed what appeared to be magic transference between the two creatures, speculating witchbeasts can acquire their own “familiars.”

Merit Concord

Current ruling patriarch of the isolationist mage colony in Blackthorn County. Following long standing tradition in Blackthorn, the oldest witch from one of the four families, the Byfields, the Concords, the Gatakers and the Thurgoods, inhabits Blackthorn House. The centuries old house is infused with magic from each past family leader, so much so that it is reputed to be the most magic building in all of the provinces.

Raiona St. Houel

When negotiating a cease fire on Blinking March occupied island nation of Falas Shtrat, St. Houel was sent to mediate between local officials and the stationed Guard. When militant BM forces rode out in ships to attack the officials’ escort ship St. Houel stilled the waters around the enemy ships, keeping them locked in place, making time for the Guard to arrive and apprehend them.

Rene Lu Shang

While performing as house magician, at Cascade d’Or Casino, Lu Shang would surreptitously scatter seeds from his pockets on to the casino carpet. During his final performance the was a small “accidental” fire that set off the sprinkler system. Plants shot up from the floor all over the casino reaching heights of 7ft. The interior of the Cascade d’Or were golden fields of grain so thick it was impossible for patrons to find their way out. In the commotion Lu Sheng and Kanhu eluded security and escaped with 5 million.
