Marinette's POV
I woke up to my alarm and got ready for school. I could hear the pitter-patter on the roof signifying that it was still raining. I haven't minded the rain these past couple of days. I actually find it quite relaxing. I ambled down stairs to grab two croissants and said goodbye my mom. My dad waved goodbye to me as I exited the bakery with a smile on my face. Adrien was already outside waiting for me with his black umbrella. Ever since we started dating, we've been walking to school together. Now that I think about it, we pretty much do everything together. We are inseparable. I offered him a croissant and he happily accepted. It is his favorite food after all. Once we arrived at school, we met up with Alya and Nino before heading to class.

School had just ended and I roamed to my locker to grab my belongings but when I opened it, something fell to the floor. I bent down to grab it and it seemed to be a note. I sat down on the bench and proceeded to open it.
Dear Marinette,
Meet me at our special spot ♥
Love, Adrien
I smiled and slightly blushed at the note. When I glanced at my locker, there was a black umbrella but not just any black umbrella. This umbrella is the same one that Adrien gave me when he explained that Chloe was the one who put gum on my seat. I was so quick to accuse him of putting the gum on my seat because I didn't trust anyone who was friends with Chloe. I still don't entirely trust any of Chloe's friends to this day but I've learned to not judge a book by its cover. Now this umbrella is a symbol of our love for each other. As soon as I realized that he was nothing like Chloe and instead a very kind boy who was just trying to make friends on his first day of school, I fell in love with him and I find myself just falling deeper in love with him with each day that goes by. I quickly grabbed my things along with the umbrella before heading to the park.
Adrien's POV
I was sitting on the ground while leaning on the trunk of a very special cherry blossom tree. This is one of my favorite spots to hang out at with Marinette. Cherry blossom trees signify love. The pink flowers that hang on the branches remind me of Marinette because of their beauty. Marinette. Words can not express how much i love her. She is the only light that I have in this cruel world. She is the only one who makes me feel happy these days. Ever since mom disappeared, father has not been the same. He's never around anymore. But even when he is, he doesn't make an effort to acknowledge my presence. Sometimes I feel like I'm a disappointment to him and possibly everyone else in this world. I had depression for the first few months where mom was missing. Father forced me to do a bunch of things that I didn't necessarily enjoy like modeling, fencing, Chinese lessons, etc. On top of all of that, I am one of Paris' superheroes which is a big responsibility. I used to get panic attacks all the time due to stress but all of that changed when a certain girl came into my life. She helped me get through the pain and thanks to her, I am no longer suffering. Sure, things get rough from time to time but Marinette is always there to make everything better. Just like me, Marinette has her own struggles as well. She sometimes gets stressed out about school, responsibilities, and being one of Paris' superheroes. I have caught her getting close to having a panic attack a few times but I immediately calm her down. It would break my heart to see her break down because I know how it feels so I try to do everything in my power to keep her happy. Now that I think about it, Marinette and I balance each other. If we were ever torn apart, we both would probably fall apart. I snap out of my thoughts to see Marinette approaching me at a fast pace, desperate to seek shelter provided by the tree to escape the rain but also being cautious of the muddy grass to prevent herself from slipping. Her eyes lit up once she saw the small set up I made. Their was a picnic blanket sprawled out on the grass. Small floral scented candles were set up around the blanket along with some pink rose pedals. Fluffy pillows and blankets were scattered around the picnic blanket to provide warmth because it was in fact very cold. It wasn't much but I hope she'll like it.
"You're so extra," she joked.
"Only the best for m'lady," I claimed. Once Marinette was under the tree, she closed the black umbrella and set it on the grass along with her other belongings. She then took off her pink flats and set them next to my orange shoes before sitting next to me on the blanket. She rested her head on my shoulder as I grabbed a very fluffy blanket. I wrapped the blanket around both of our bodies to keep us warm. She curled up into a comfortable position with her head resting on my lap. I then played with her dark blue hair. It was so soft between my fingers. I watched as she slowly closed her eyes as I continued to play with her hair. Once we started dating, she started to wear her hair down more often. The sound of rain was all that could be heard. She turned her head so she was looking directly up at mine. I smiled down at her and made a funny face. She gave me a strange look before giggling. Her laugh was so angelic. I could listen to it all day. "I love it when you laugh," I dreamfully sighed. Her face turned bright pink as she sat up to try and hide it. She faced the tree trunk and gazed at a small carving in the wood. I observed as she began to trace the design that read "M+A" outlined with a heart. I took Marinette here on our very first date a few months ago. We carved this design in the tree so we can always remember that special day. I still remember looking for a spot to take Marinette on our first date and as soon as I laid my eyes on the cherry blossom tree, I knew it was the perfect spot. I decorated the branches with fairy lights and lanterns. I had put out lots of blankets, pillows, stuffed animals and a picnic basket packed with all sorts of tasty treats like pastries, chocolate, and strawberry lemonade because I knew it was her favorite. I was snapped out of my daze at the sound of thunder. The rain started to pour down harder and the tree was no longer able to protect us from the rain. I didn't realize how dark it had gotten. The wind started to pick up as Marinette helped me clean up. I just shoved everything into a bag, not even bothering to fold the blankets. The rain only came down harder and it was obvious that a storm was rapidly approaching. We sprinted to Marinette's house since it wasn't too far away. Seriously rain. We were having such a nice time until you had to ruin it. The familiar building was finally coming into view. Marinette swung the bakery doors open just as her dad was closing up shop. He was startled when he saw the state that Marinette and I were in. Both of us were soaking wet with our hands on our knees, trying to catch our breaths.
"Oh dear! What happened?" Sabine questioned as she rushed to us.
"Marinette and I were at the park but then the rain started to pour down," I answered while standing up straight. Marinette did the same.
"Why don't you two go dry off and change into some clean clothes so you don't catch a cold," Tom suggested. Marinette nodded and grabbed my hand, leading the way to her bedroom.
Hey guys! Sorry for not updating in a while. I'll try to get the next one out sooner. I have Thanksgiving Break next week so hopefully I can write at least two chapters during that time. You might think these chapters are kind of short and I agree with you. I try to write 1000+ words per chapter and that seems to be working out pretty well with me. Please remember that this is my first fanfiction so all of this is new to me. Hopefully as the book progresses, the chapters will get longer. Also, thank you so much for 34 views! I wasn't expecting that many and I'm really grateful that you guys decided to check out my story. Anyways, please give me some feedback and leave your suggestions of what you would like to see in this story. Bye!
