It almost feels like a coping mechanism for not having the 'attention' of her father. And also being able to see him in the exclusive realm of her dreams give her a sense of legitimacy and closeness to the Vongola bloodline that convey into affection ? MAYBE I'm reading too much into it haha, honestly, she's just a kid and at her age it's ok to fall in love handome looking older dude you see from afar.
