“Have you talked to the head master? I mean, it’s their stupid mistake.” Sora snorted and looked a bit angry.
It wasn’t the reaction Aoi had thought he would get, but he couldn’t help but smile at it. “Yes, they said it was because I had filled in male on my paperwork. What the h-… should I do? I’m a boy, so of course I filled in that. My mother even paid extra for a girl’s uniform and sent them a letter about it.” Aoi sighed. “They told me to wear the pants they sent me, until they can get me some skirts. I’m not sure what to do, since the girls thinks I’m thinking that I’m special.”
“Well, I don’t care what you wear, that’s your problem. But if I were you would I keep the wrong skirt to annoy the hell out of people.” Sora shrugged. “So… Aoi, that’s a unisex name, huh? What do you want me to say? You’re a boy?”
“Yeah. I’m a boy, I just like cute stuff. I don’t care if you think it’s stupid, everyone can dress in what they like.”
“It’s not stupid, it’s just not my thing.”
It had been a good thing to meet Sora in the cafeteria, to not just meet in their room later in the evening and find out that he wouldn’t like to share room with him. Aoi felt relieved now that they had met and Sora didn’t seem to mind how he dressed. Sora had told him that he didn’t care as long as Aoi wasn’t an asshole to him, and that he would respect him. It had made the ache in Aoi’s stomach go away with the worry he had been feeling. They might not be friends yet, but there was a chance they could become.
Since the classes for their first day had ended, they decided to go back to the dorm and their room. It wasn’t hard for Aoi to notice how Sora seemed to know exactly where he was going, as he had been here many times before, even if Aoi knew it wasn’t true. They were both exchange students and new here. Sora also seemed to be a quiet person, he hadn’t said much after telling him that he didn’t care how Aoi dressed. Somehow he made Aoi silent just by being this kind of cold person, because that was how Aoi felt. Like Sora didn’t want to talk to him.
Aoi wasn’t sure how Sora did it, but they were soon in their room. Sora had only stopped once, in a place where everything looked the same to Aoi, and he had gotten lost if it wasn’t for the dark haired guy. They both left their shoes at the shoe stand, and Aoi went over to his bed to sit down. All he wanted to do was to talk to Sora, to get to know him, but he didn’t know where to start. Sora however only turned to his suitcase and started to unpack his things to put them in the wardrobe.
