*I found out about my writers' block is due to how I wrote chapters. Starting in chapter 9, I will write each chapter from a character's point of view but instead of recapping an event- it'll be continuous. Ex: Daniel met Simon, Simon will then continue the story and will not recap what he thought. I still have to work out the new chapter layout. I have to figure out how I am going to put say Simon thoughts during an event but still continue the story.*
The morning rolled by fast as my alarm blared against my ear. My room was dull with light. Music continues to play as I dragged my way out of bed and hit the alarms stop button. Waking up at 6 am is something that I would not choose to do; however, my parents drilled the habit in my head at such a young age. I guess I can't hate on them for it since it is a good habit. The only downside is, no one is up yet, and I got hours to wait.
Wobbling to the bathroom, I set off to start my day. Doing the usual cleaning, I hurry since I only been given 30 minutes. It might seem kinda impossible, but I manage to have time left over. Soon as I get done, my mom hurries for her 30min shower. After her, my dad then takes an hour. Once the daily showers are complete, we can finally work on breakfast.
Sitting around the table, we try to make conversation. "So, Simon. You have about a month till school. Are you excited or nervous?" my mom spoke in a more awake tone.
"I guess." I wasn't excited at all, why would I? All I wanted to do is take my time eating, but that didn't last long. I was up and heading back to my room in no time at all. There was still a while until it is time for me to leave.
Digging around in my stuff, I was able to entertain myself, one hour before I get Danny. Well, why not call him?
The phone rang for a bit when he picked up, "Hey, I just want to make sure if you are ready or not?"
Taking a second, Daniel spoke "I'm actually taking care of my dog, but I'm ready whenever. You do have a bit over an hour before the set time, but I guess you can come earlier. I mean, if you want to."
This feels kinda awkward for me.
Wait, did he say dog? I have to find out what kind it is! I hope, it's a small lap dog or even a short snout. "what kind of dog, does it have a short nose, I find those dogs to be very adorable."
All I heard from him was a chuckle, "Yeah, he's a Boston Terrier. His name is Boss, like my moms' grandpa's dog. A stinky little breed."
I ended up loudly saying how I love Boston Terriers, and we then talk for another moment before I got into my car. His house was only 30 minutes away from mine. Where he lives is a very cheerful area to live in. Pulling into his driveway, I went up to meet him. I was greeted at the door to a short pastel looking boy. His hair was rather bright due to the sun, it was rather cute.
We exchanged a few words before we left for the car. Telling me that we are heading to the main hangout places.
Before I knew it, he spoke again "want to play two truths and a lie? It might be fun since we don't know each other a lot."
I kinda didn't want to, but anything to keep it from being awkward As I started the car, I started the game "I have dated a girl, this is my first time living outside the city, and I like cute stuff."
We bicker back and forth about facts, all of them were easy to answer. He did, however, ask about how I found out that I was gay. I just said the usual, "I get excited around them" and whatnot. After that, Daniel sat in silence for the rest of the ride. It wasn't long until I pulled up next to the courthouse.
The sun shined brightly upon this little town. Glancing around, I couldn't help but look at Daniel. His feature was glowing in the sun; All I could feel was my face heating up. The brown fall leaves complement his features, especially the freckles on his face. I could have continued to stare at Daniel, but he spoke up, knocking me out of my daze.
"Well, There's a river right up there. Then we could walk toward the park and um. That's all I have planned so far." Rounding the car, Daniel spoke.
"oh, okay." I really hope he doesn't notice my blushing face or at least think it cause of the sun.
