It depends. By best friend moved to UK for studies and it was hard to let it go (she's going back home just 2 times/year and for a short period of time, so the maximum time I can spend with her is a day). And even if people say you can still comunicate from distance, it's not the same. But she still planned a suprise party for my birthday. And I still made her a little comic book with us for her birthday. I guess having a friend is beyond advices and good time. I think it's more about being so excited to see someone and care about him/her even if you don't speak that often.
