Amaya's POV
Looking up, I could see two guards dragging the leader of the rebels to his final destination, where his life would finally come to an end.
The man showed no hesitation neither showed that he did something wrong. He walked bravely next to the hanging rope with his eyes never faltering, he took a glimpse at my direction then he smiled while he balled up his fist, lifting it as if to tell me to go on, have strength.
I bit my bottom lip as I clutched at the bottom of my dirty clothes to stop myself from shouting his name or even to go up the stage and hug him one last time.
Aah ah! I hate this, this feeling of being useless, to have no power whatsoever to protect someone dear to me.
I took a deep breath and gazed up to the man with my eyes pooled with tears. And lifted my right arm with hand balled up, replying to his last message.
He saw it and his smile spread widely as if his last problem had been resolved.
One of the guards brought a small ladder forward then signaled the man to climb up. The guard's expression angered me, it was as if he just wanted to get this execution over with already.
It seemed like the man noticed my expression and coughed to put my attention at him. I stared at him, he shook his head and mouthed: I love you.
I smiled sadly, I watched him climbed up, he took the rope in his hands and slowly putting it under his neck and once the rope touched his skin, the second guard suddenly kicked him in the back, taking him by surprise and so was I.
I was about to leap from the crowd but looking into his eyes, I know I shouldn't. So I watched him struggled until to his last breath, excruciatingly.
Once the guards knew that he finally died, they brought him down then tossed his body off the stage as if he was just a piece of garbage.
That man was my hero, that man was not just a body! That man was my father!!
I pinched my arm so hard o prevent myself from crying, to preoccupied my brain from reminiscing those memories that I had with him.
Once the execution was finished, a loud voice surprised the people, including me.
The voice came from above and there she was, Alem, with her long red hair swaying with the wind, her violet eyes filled with power, her face that captured the heart of god and goddesses, her body covered with metal armor that shined brightly under the sun.
''Good day to you my people!'' she shouted with a wide smile on plastered on her wicked face. ''Today you witnessed the death of a TRAITOR but worry not! Soon we will capture the rest of them! Starting with his family! Dezcheln, start surrendering yourselves or I'll do it by force!'' she announced.
The monster and humans around me fell into silence. It seemed that they were not in favor of what their ruler just said.
Soon enough Alem noticed their disagreement and laughed.
Her laugh sent chills down my spine, her voice, entire existence made me abhor her entire existence more.
''Would you look at that... it seems like there will be people dying today,'' she commented as she continued on watching the citizen's expression as if she was waiting for their change of attitude.
Moments later, one by one, the people started cheering, saying things like ''the traitor is gone!'' , ''Long live our ruler Alem!''.
These phrases seemed to please her, her smile got wider but my stare at her got sharper. I strongly held myself down to not get myself noticed and kill this disgusting woman above me.
I was busy calming my nerves down when her eyes immediately found mine, making my skin crawl. I immediately changed my angered expression into blank.
Her stares lingered on me for a few more moments before changing her gaze to another direction.
I exhaled in relief and hastily made my way out of the crowd, erasing my presence before I get caught.
I need to tell them the news.

3rd Person's POV
As she stood above her people, she suddenly felt herself in danger. Alem immediately looked down, searching for someone who was after her but instead of an assassin she found a woman who was staring at her menacingly, her brown eyes filled with hatred but her expression quickly changed as if it was just a hallucination.
The woman might have hidden her expression but Alem could feel an aura filled with hatred.
Alem stared back at her for a few moments, burning her face in her mind, never forgetting.
I will let you wander more, little one. But soon I'll capture you!
And with that, Alem changed her gaze and let her prey gets away.
To be continued.
