Sometimes the only way to make people understand how beautiful it is to be dead inside is for them to die. People fear death before they die. But they’ll see how beautiful death is once they’re dead. And after death, they became a work of art. What could be more beautiful than that? Your bodies are just vessels. What makes you who you are is your soul. When you’re dead, all you’ll leave behind is your body. Without a soul, your body is just flesh. Torn apart, it’s just meat. Stomped on, it’s just blood. Wiped clean, it’s nothingness…

Yuri and CJ understand that. They realize of how futile it is to try to ‘feel’ sympathy, empathy, or guilt. They know they need each other. And each other’s leverage is the only thing that sticks them together. It’s always give and take. They work together, move together, and help each other. Whether it is sex, or killing, or food, what matters is that the other possesses what the other lacks. So they need each other. Pretty much laid down, it could be seen as similar to ‘love’. There’s no real ‘love’. There’s just something you want from them and something you can give to them. That’s ‘love’ enough for these two.

There are smaller body parts at the beginning; fingers, toes, nose, ears… And it moves to bigger parts; hands, legs, chunks of meat from the torso as it could be. And the last part is the head. They are all hanged around the prison wall with a string made from the bed sheets and had been cut into thin pieces of cloth tied together. The white bed sheet is now completely red in color. The floor is all bloodied. CJ and Yuri had used all that they can get their hands on to cut the prisoner into whatever it is that they’ve showcased. They called it ‘the string of happiness’. The deed marks their friendship, companionship, or whatever else they call it. The deed marks trust between the two.

“This is brilliant, CJ. I would have done better with my Christmas decoration before if you were around,” Yuri indicated. His eyes glow. There are traces of malignant in them.

“What decorations did you do?”

“I cut my roommate into pieces, wrap them up and put them under the Christmas tree.”

“Oh. What was the decoration for the tree then?”

“Those shiny normal boring things of course.”

“Yuri, you should’ve cut off his ears, or dick, or fingers, maybe? And hang them on the Christmas tree instead.”

“Ty che, blyad! I should’ve thought of that!”

“Tur- what, Yuri?” CJ asked in his lack of knowledge in Russian, slightly chuckling at the sound of Yuri speaking in that language. He thinks that he sounds foreign, out of this world, yet beautiful at the same time.

“What the fuck. In Russian.”

“Say something romantic to me in Russian.”

“Ya tebya lyublyu, lyubov moya”

“What does that mean?”

Yuri only laughs at him in answer. “Find that out yourself.”

As soon as he ended his words, the shock came. Both of their bodies shook violently from the electric shock. Their conversation sounded very calm and normal before that. It was like a talk over coffee instead of two people strapped on electric chairs. As expected, they both survived the shock. Weaken, yes. But survived. And that could only mean one thing; they’ll kill again. They’ll kill for each other, they’ll live for each other, they’ll fuck one another, they’ll do whatever it takes to keep this companionship. Because they understand each other. They don’t need anybody else.
