with the right support and the right ideas from the right people, something just clicked. I was okay not being with anyone. that lonely, traumatised void inside me that I needed to fill up would probably never close completely, and finding someone to be in a relationship with wouldn't even be so much as a stopgap. but I could make myself into a person that I liked better, before I even thought about sharing my life with another person.
