In hiding, Mir has observed Bubble's mysterious ex-boyfriend for the past two days. His name is Piran Hellion. Finding Piran wasn’t as easy as Mir first thought it to be. Piran changed his address and moved out to another place, which is suspicious. After inquiring the locals, bribing some people and following some leads, Mir was finally successful of finding this creep. At the moment, his profession seems to be ambiguous and foggy. This fella seems to be a regular visitor of antique shops. It's also noticeable that he bought some books of history of ancient gods.

Dude looks like a brawny hench built like a brick shithouse.

He has weird symbolic tattoos. He has a flushed rosy skin with a dark coaled eyes. And, a ring on his pinky. He has tattoo on his forehead that looks like an eye. It's a symbol known as The Eye of Ra. This eye is an ancient magical symbol. Long ago, it was used by ancient religions for protection. 

He wears amulets like ornaments. Bubble didn’t mention all these important details of him. He mostly goes out from his house after evening and returns home by 10 pm. In the morning, he remains busy near his home. Most of his day time activities include fishing, gardening and wandering in the woods.

He possesses a .243 winchester single shot rifle hunting gun. It's designed to hunt varmints. Not that lethal against humans but should be enough to damage a lot. But, there is always a potential looming to kill a person. One of the problems is that it’s difficult to manoeuvre in short range, which makes it less suitable for defensive purpose. But, no matter how weak, a weapon like that is a threat and shouldn’t be underestimated. In fight or flight situations, anything can become a deadly weapon for a person to use. He also carries a hunting knife with him. Mir finds it strange that he doesn’t hunt in the woods even though he carries the hunting weapons with him.

"Butcher Larris told me he returned to his parents place to stay with them. But, where are they? There's no sign of them. Strange." Mir thinks to himself.

Piran's house is located near a forest, which is a bit far from the residence area of the Deadslump city and almost at the border of the country. It's pretty much a no man's land. The forest is huge and surrounded by hills. It's a good thing that there are rangers to guard the forest, but they are close to the border deep within the forest and way farther from Piran's location.

Speaking of his house, it’s a creepy cottage, surrounded by a stone fence line.

The cottage lives as if under constant shadow, as if the sun keeps reaching for those walls that shrink away. And so its windows stay black without the rippling effect of the light, never knowing that the dust that clings, the dirt of years, could so easily be washed away. The walls are so cold to the touch, stealing the heat from the warm fingers, never caring if one's own heart froze. As if that there are ghosts inside is a certainty, that they bluster around screaming is a fact, yet only the house can usher them out and wish for those rays to kiss it some warmth.

Until that then the paint will peel and the wood will rot, forever wishing for the warmth of a touch.

As the shallow, fiery sun has been accomplished and the mint milky moon has come with a display of myriad of twinkly stars. Swaying trees were connected to rustling leaves. He was perplexed with ghostly whispers. As he walked, the sky transformed into plum and periwinkle with a trapped snake inside a glass lavender moon. Colours were mixed. The sky was pure black with silvery dots.

Shimmering stars, clear dark night sky, the moon glistening on the dark blue pond, quietness, all forms of life sleeping, birds chirping wistfully.

Trees stand tall and dark against the black night sky, nestled against the hill. Mir looks up at the stars. He can see them far better than he could in the Deadslump. Out here he can see some stars that were barely bits of dust in the city. He is sure there are more constellations among them, but he has no clue. If only Jane were here, he thinks instinctively. Why can’t he get her out of his head? The only one that understood him.

Mir wished Jane was there with him. So he could see her light up when he asked about the stars, or anything he didn’t know much of. He misses her pulling him along the streets of Deadslump in the night. Yet there he is, sitting alone by a fire, with nothing but the dark and his revolver to keep him company. Is this what has become of the man Jane loved? He hates it, more than anything.

In the far corner of his eyes' visible field where everything becomes vague, Mir saw a lurking shadow of a humanoid figure. It was there for a fraction of moment and disappeared before the reaction time.
