“You would think by now that I would remember to brace myself everytime I knowingly walk into a room that you’re in.”
“You would think that wouldn’t you?” Tim said to his brother, as he tried to hold his pose on his seat.
“What in the world are you doing brother?” Chemy asked as he walked around little monster Monty and his art isle, and his brother who was sitting in the strangest of poses.
“Well I was trying to ask the boy if there was anything from his previous life that he might like to do here and he said he likes art! So I thought to myself, who could be a better model than myself? And so here we are!” Tim smiled brightly at his brother, with Monty mimicking him and turning to smile as well.
Chemy looked over the young monster boy’s shoulder and gasped in surprise, he was really quite good, he made Tim look rather dignified. And if anyone had laid eyes on Tim ever in their life, they would know that that’s not an easy feat to achieve.
“My my, you’re absolutely amazing at this Monty! Is this the kind of thing you did in your previous life?”
Monty nodded shyly.
“My mother taught me how to paint, and she was very good. I spent most of my time with my mother in my other life, and so I learned everything I knew from her.” Monty’s voice grew softer, “I sometimes wish I could find my old paintings I did of her. I miss her.”
The brothers looked at each other in that sort of way that twins do when they’re both thinking the same thing at the same time.
“Brother, even though Monty was in an unmarked grave, perhaps there’s still ways we can find out more about his history.”
Chemy nodded, thinking hard about how this could be done. The Hollow was a rather large kingdom, and who knows how many centuries old, but perhaps it could be done.
And the boys knew it must be done. Anything to make their new friend happy.
Tim snapped his fingers. “I’ve got it!” He jumped up from his strange pose and ran for the phone.
“Ria has access to all the kingdoms archives and historical artifacts and such, I’m sure she’d sneak us in if we asked nicely, especially if the happiness of a young boy is at stake!”
Tim laughed excitedly, and Monty did as well.
Chemy was happy to see his brother and their friend happy.
Though he did have the growing concern that Monty was spending too much time with Tim, with all the mimicking and what not.
Nobody needed another Timothy Crang running around this kingdom.
One was very much enough.
But I digress.
“Then let’s do it! Call Ria and let’s help this boy find his history!” Chemy smiled brightly at the young boy.
Though finding Monty and bringing him back to life was all most certainly Tim’s idea, Chemy couldn’t help but grow fond of the boy and want to help him in whatever he wants to do in this new opportunity in life.
The Crang brothers do have hearts, even if some in The Hollow don’t always see it that way.
