Needless to say we did not go to the mall that day. In fact none of us even spoke once we got back to Mariah's car. Mariah was too shaken to even speak so Darold offered to drive and we've been driving for hours now. It was almost 7:00 p.m when Darold finally stopped the car. When I realized we weren't at anyone's house I examined a nearby sign and Saw we were at the Lake Lanier water park.

We all got out of the park in confusion meanwhile Darold walked straight to the entrance and hopped over the small gate. With no other choice but to follow we all quickly hopped the fence and ran to catch up with him. After looking around the park was eerily quiet as everyone had left for the day. All of the lights were currently off and with the sun quickly setting it was getting much harder to see.

Eventually Darold stopped in front of a powerbox next to the control room that powered the rides and he turned to face us.

“Ok considering what just happened today theres no point in hiding it. We all have powers and for whatever reason that guy wants to use us. I don't know about you all but I hate being used so maybe if we all work together we can get away from him and the school, but in order to do that we should have a good understanding of what our strengths are. Besides you all are my best friends and I never liked keeping this secret about myself in the first place.”

With that Darold touched the powerbox as his eyes glowed a dark green. Binary code trailed down his arm and into the box causing it to pop and crackle to life. With that all the lights around the park turned back on as well as all the water slides.

As Darold let out a sigh Tariq and Satoya whistled in admiration.

“So let's just get introductions out of the way.. I can communicate with technology and make it do what I want.”

I started to clap in respect at how cool that power was and the others did the same while we all ran down to the edge of the water.

I immediately took my shoes off and stood at the edge letting the water slowly wash over my feet. I let out a sigh when Tariq coughed getting our attention.

“So i'll just go next then.”

Out of nowhere He was suddenly enveloped in grey mist and disappeared from the spot he was sitting. Satoya let out a yelp in surprise and then squealed even louder when he popped back up behind her in the same fashion.

“I can teleport just about anywhere but I have to keep a clear head so that I don't end up somewhere dangerous like outer space or the bottom of the ocean, and I can only teleport for six times a day before I get really tired and pass out.” Tariq scratched the back of his head nervously awaiting our response I could tell from his reaction that this was probably the first time he's ever intentionally showing people his powers and I honestly respected it.Even as I sat among my friends who all lived under similar circumstances as me, and I still find it completely hard to believe.Especially since my power was completely different from theirs. I could easily think of 5 good uses of their powers for were as mine only really did one thing which is destroy.

Unless the problem is just me.

Before I could get even more lost in thought, Satoya vanished clothes and all in from of all of us causing us all to gasp in shock.Tariq bagan to poke at the air from where she had been standing only for her to squeal and reappear in front of all of us once more.

“Tariq that was not my face you were poking!”

The rest of us couldn't help but laugh as Tariq suddenly looked as red as a tomato.

In an effort to save Tariq from further embarrassment and Satoyas angry death stare, Mariah got up from where she was sitting and faced us.

“My power normally works when I’m scared and luckily I’m still kinda scared from earlier so..” Without another word she picked up a nearby stone off of the ground before her she began to blink repeatedly. Suddenly out of nowhere she began to cry but what was noticeably odd was that her tears were a light green color. Even more sense I felt an odd sense of dread immediately wash over me and as I looked around I saw that the others seemed to be in the same state as I was.

Mariah then turned to the water and held the stone close to her lips. She let out a long whistle and we watched as the stone shot out of her hand and skipped against the water until it was out of sight.

She then turned back to us and wiped her eyes and instantly that feeling I fear that had washed over me disappeared.

“I can control the frequencies in my voice to hold any pitch that I want, But it's triggered by my emotions. What I can't control is how i can project my emotions onto anyone within 500 feet of me.” She crossed her arms and sat back down clearly feeling guilty that we had to feel the same fear that she was feeling. Without a word Alvin and Satoya both hugged her as she silently sobbed.

“I think your power is amazing Mariah.” I said with a smile getting her to smile back.

Alvin decided to demonstrate his power next as he suddenly took off across the water and came back in for seconds holding the stone that Mariah had sent away earlier catching us all off guard but also making us laugh and definitely lightening the mood.

Then everyone turned to me expectantly, and I was left looking like a deer in headlights.

“I-I can't share mine, it's too dangerous.”

“Oh come on please?” Alexis pressed only for Mariah and Alvin to stand up and pull me to the side.

“Jaden are you ok?” Mariah asked, concerned etched all over her face.

I wasn't sure how to answer but i could feel myself getting anxious. Eventually Alvin grabbed me by the wrist because I wouldn't stop shaking. “If you're uncomfortable then you don't have to go all out, or you don't have to do it at all. We’ve already seen your power in action so I know what you're thinking, and just because your powers are stronger doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you for not having them completely under control.``Alvin reassured catching me completely off guard.

“Exactly if anything it makes you even cooler. The fact that you have to hold your powers everyday can't be easy so why not start small and then we can help you work your way up.”

Having the two of them there helped settle my nerves as they read my face instantly and calmed me down. I could feel my breathing slow as I wiped the excess sweat off of my face.

I walked back to the group and held out my hand and focused on controlling all four of the stages of my power at the same time. At first nothing happened but in an instant sparks crackled against my palm until a small fire sprouted ad wrapped itself against my pinky finger,water from the lake flew towards my palm and coiled around my index finger, the earth arose in small pedals and engulfed my middle finger in rock, and the air grew dense as a small whirlwind formed around my thumb.

I had never used all four at the same time before today, but seeing them wrapped around my fingers and the fact that I wasn't hurting anyone, caused me to feel all too pleased with myself.

Unfortunately it was short lived as my nose started to bleed causing me to lose focus. The elements quickly faded out of my hand as Alvin caught before I fell to the ground. When I looked up I saw everyone looking at me in shock before in roaring applause.

“Dude I am so jealous my powers are so lame compared to that.” Alexis whined before realizing she had placed all the attention on herself.

“Wow now you have to show us.” Satoya smirked as Alexis arose in a huff before rolling up her sleeves and walking into the water.

At first nothing happened, but then a bright light started to form around her hands. The light quickly changed, forming an assortment of rainbow colors that she then shot up in the sky creating beautiful auroras that danced amongst the stars.

We gave her a standing ovation before we all sat back down again looking up at the sky as the auroras continued to shine.

We seemed to forget everything else that had happened that day completely oblivious to the rest of the world because right now being together was all that mattered to any of us.
