"Really? I thought there would be more to it. At least every time I've heard stories of people having run-ins with something in the woods offering deals, they ask for more."

"I'm not a 'something I'm a girl!" She answered angrily. "Im, a proper lady. I only ask for what I need. But if you insist on it, I will ask for more-" The girl made a show of thinking. 

"You shall also bring me food," she puffed out her chest at the part about being a lady, though Dale could tell she had nothing close to a lady's body by the shape of her robe. Plus, she could not seem to decide what she was, a "lady" or a "girl.". She seemed to change her social standing and politeness at a whim.

"Oh, Speaking of being a lady," she continued, "I've forgotten to introduce myself. I am Voyeur, and what might your name be, boy?"

"It's a little late for that, is it not?... And I'm a man, not a boy."

"It's rude not to give your name when a girl gives her own!" Voyeur seemed flustered with Dale's etiquette even though her own was spotty.

He sighed, "My name is Dale, and it's nice to meet you, Voyard."

"It's Voyeur!"

"Sorry...Voy-eur," he extended his hand, but she only regarded it for a moment, then made eye contact again and gave a courteous bow. He brought his unreceived hand back to his side.

"No, I'd be stupid not to accept your deal just how it is now, but first, tell me how you expect to bring her back."

"Entertain and bring me food now. All this playing has left me hungry."

He hoped she wasn't serious about adding additional requests, but entertaining and feeding a child seemed a small price to pay.

"Fine food too, just tell me how you expect to bring back a dead body."

She gave him a dubious smile. A smile wide enough to show her long sharp looking canine teeth in the moonlight

"That's a secret."

"......"

He had tried to keep this anger in check, but a cold rage filled his body. He had tolerated the girl's childish antics and entertained the idea of her bringing his beloved back from the dead long enough to make him feel silly.

Making a fist, he then Wordlessly approached her.

Seeing the anger in his face, Voyeur put up her hand defensively and cried.

"A girl has to have her secrets"!

But it was too late with all the weight of his body. Dale struck the Voyeur hard on the cheek with his clenched fist. He found at that moment that he had a fit of anger unknown to even himself. Anger that showed no qualms about striking a girl much smaller than him with his full force

Voyeur's small body flew from where she stood by the dead woman's corpse. Dale was not short for a man. He stood tall at 2 meters and had the strength of countless trips in the outdoors and the occasional visit to the gym.

With an audible thud and an exclaimed yelp from Voyeur, she left the ground and found herself propelled headfirst into the trunk of a nearby tree. The collision shook the tree hard enough to dislodge the last of its leaves from the branches. 

Dale made no move from where he stood for a while. His heart and lungs seemed too big for his body as he gasped for air. Looking down at the motionless body at the base of the tree, Dale felt nothing but wrath for the girl.

She had made a sport of him when he was in distress. Above that, this creature before him had given him false hope. Bringing the dead back to life was a fantasy. He thought to himself.
