In the week that followed the seven of us had never been closer  after the night spent at lake lanier.

We had spent hours there each  sharing our stories and individual problems that our powers had added to our lives.

Apparently Satoyas’ parents knew something was off before she was even born. The couple had taken over three sonograms and were left in confusion after three different doctors claimed that they could not see the child. Her mother however refused to listen cause shed be damned If all this extra weight wasn't a baby. When she was born her parents couldn't see her at first until one day her father sneezed and she laughed so hard that she reappeared right before  their eyes. Since her power was pretty tame so she's lived in Gwinnett for most of her life. However it didn't stop her from causing trouble which is how she ended up at the school.

Alexis told us how her parents loved making her laugh and clap her hands as a baby. It wasn't until she was four and had clapped her hands so hard that a burst of rainbow light shot out and destroyed the family car. From that point on her parents confined her to homeschooling where she met Alvin through online classes and soon he was her only friend. It  wasn't until She came out to her parents that she got more freedom than she expected. Her parents sent her to Georgia to live with her grandmother and go to school here and she hasn't talked to them since.

Darold's situation was just as bad if not even worse. When his parents realized how his gift could work in their favor they dragged him to every atm in site and forced him to drain them dry of all the money they had stored. They never tried to have fun or do anything nice for him and soon it got to a point that the only time they would call his name was when they needed money. Eventually his grandparents came through and quickly got him out of there and hes been living here ever since.

Tariq told us of how his mom filled his head with stories of amazing countries and regions but his favorite had always been the great pyramids in Egypt. So one day when he woke up on top of said pyramid he thought he was dreaming..until a bird scratched him in the face leaving a crying 5-year old on top of the Pyramid. All he could think about was how much he wanted to go home to his mom, and in an instant he was back in his moms bed who just assumed he had a nightmare.

Mariah used to be in choir at her old school in Florida until she sang at such a high pitch that not only did all the glass shatter throughout the school but so did everyones eardrums, leaving the entire student body partially deaf with no real explanation. Her parents assured her that it wasn't entirely her fault, but to this day she still feels guilty.

Alvin had simply said that one day he ran too fast and went straight through the wall of his old house which caused us all to laugh hysterically that day as we sat outside for hours.

It felt so amazing to share something this big with my friends. Of course we were all concerned about our situation considering we were all from different parts of the U.S and yet we all were born with amazing powers, and on top of that some guy that clearly had some issues was extremely hell bent on bringing us all together. However it still felt good to just be us and know that we were not alone.Now my only order of business is getting my powers under control before I accidentally kill someone.

Meanwhile Satoya and Alexis were mainly focused on making sure I get laid at the dance saturday night.

The seven of us had finally made it to the mall and were shopping for outfits for homecoming which was tomorrow night. The guys decided to separate to find tuxes and I planned on joining them until the girls pulled me away because apparently they all needed my help with there outfits which I knew was a bold face lie.The girls quickly proved me right as they pulled me into a store and grabbed there already bought outfits from the cashier.We then walked to the changing rooms and I sat outside as the girls tried on  their dresses minus Alexis who purchased a tux.

“So Jaden..” Alexis Said as she poked her head over the changing room door. “Has Alvin asked you to homecoming yet?”

Soatoya and Mariah both poked their heads out as well awaiting my response as I simply chuckled and shook my head.

“No he hasnt, and I dont think hes gonna.” I say with a sigh before looking down at my phone to see Alvin sent me a text.

‘Have the girls finished yet?’ 

‘They’re trying on their outfits now. What about you three?’

‘We just finished getting tailored.’

Alvin then sent me a picture of him wearing a black suit with a dark golden vest underneath it with a wide grin on his face. 

‘Wow you look great!’

‘Thanks I can't wait to see what you're wearing-wait what are you wearing?’

‘I figured a simple tank top and jeans would do the trick.’

‘Lol seriously though?’

‘Um.. I actually haven't figured out what I’m wearing.’

Alvin sent a gasping emoji causing me to laugh out loud as the girls walked out of the changing rooms.

‘Jaden the dance is tomorrow when we’re you gonna say something?’

‘I’m sorry I didn't want the girls breathing down my neck.’

‘..... That's understandable, but we still need to get you a suit. What are you doing later?’

‘Aside from scarfing down wings at the food court, nothing why?’

‘I was gonna see a movie later,but i wanted to go with someone so how about I help you find a suit and in return you watch a movie with me?’

‘Sure it's a date!... sorry was that too enthusiastic?’

‘I’d say it was the right amount, and yes it's definitely a date see you in a min.’

“Aww!” all three of the girls cooed as they looked over at my phone.

“Will you three stop it.” I laugh as Mariah smirks at me.“So are you actually gonna watch the movie or are you gonna be too busy making out in the back of the theater?”

“And remember there are wrong answers.”Satoya interjected as we all left the dress shop and made our way to the food court.

“Guys I’m 100% certain that nothing is gonna happen.” I say with a sigh only to be ignored by the three of them talking over each other trying to give me advice.

“Now remember, dont have sex with him on the first date, hell think you have no manners.”

“Satoya were gonna be in a movie theater-”

“Alvin likes when people he's dating sit in his lap- he told me this exclusively.”

“Again, were gonna be in a movie theater Alexis-”

“Above all boys like feeling needed so no matter what pick a horror movie it gives you an excuse to hold him.”

“OK that.. Actually isn't bad advice I might use that one. Thanks Mariah.”

She smiled triumphantly while Alexis and Satoya glared at her before we all shared a laugh as we walked up to the food court and the table the boys were at.

The seven of us stayed there for about an hour before the others left leaving Alvin and I alone.

“Are you ready for this?” Alvin asked

“Ready for what?” I wondered as we got up and left the food court.

“For the cheesiest date you’ve ever been on?” Alvin asked as if it should have been obvious.

“Alvin I’ve never been on a date at all until now.”

He gasped obnoxiously causing me to laugh as we entered the store to look for my suit.

“Jaden, that should be a crime.”

“Well than I guess I’m going to jail.”I tease as I look around for a suit until I come across an amazing blue set.

“Ok i found the one I want!” I say excitedly as I turn around to see that Alvin was covering his eyes. “Alvin what are you doing?” 

“It's bad luck if I look at it.”

“Dude, that's only for weddings!” I say with a laugh while Alvin still had his eyes covered which made me laugh even more. The suit appeared to have been previously tailored because when I tried it on it was a perfect fit. Finding that very convenient and slightly odd, I quickly took it , put on my regular clothes and paid for it at the cashier.

“Alright, a suit has been bought!” Alvin clapped his hands excitedly as he put his arm around my shoulder. “Now are you ready for the first and best date of your life?”

“Hmm.. no not really.”

“Hey!”

“Just kidding.”

For a Friday night, the movie theater wasnt that packed, and I suppose if the girls were here they would say that this was better for me. We walked up to the front desk and saw that the theater was only playing reruns so we had to choose between Black Panther or World War Z.

“Ok seeing as I’ve seen Black Panther like 36 times i’m gonna have to go with World War Z.” I looked down at me as I nodded in agreement. “Can you promise me one thing though?”

“What?”

“If I get scared… will you hold me?” Alvin teased, causing me to laugh again as He bought our tickets.

“You are ridiculous… but I guess I can protect you.”

“My hero.”  Alvin cooed as we walked up to the snack stand,got some popcorn and headed into the theater.

Only one other person was in the theater so we decided to sit in the back as the movie began to start. As I sat down  Alvin put his arm around me immediately after letting out a fake yawn.

“Wow you move fast.” I tease as he laughed. “I told you this date was gonna be cheesy, and you know what else makes a first date really cheesy?”

“If you say make out instead of watching the movie I swear to god Alvin-”

“What! No!... Unless you want to.” Alvin teased as he leaned close only an inch away from my face. I was almost tempted to say yes until he suddenly leaned back into his seat with a playful grin.

“Oh you fuckin tease.” I laugh as he puts his arm back around my shoulder. “Anyway I was going to say that the best way to make a date really cheesy.. Is to tell lame jokes the entire time the movie is playing.”

“Oh my God.”

The rest of the movie went by with Alvin spending telling extremely lame jokes that were so bad I couldn't help but laugh and the other half was spent with us wondering what conditioner Brad Pitt used for his hair in this movie.

Eventually the movie ended and we walked out of the mall hand in hand as we waited for our parents to pick us up.

“So on a scale of one to ten how great was this date.” Alvin looked at me in anticipation as I smirked mischievously. “I’d say…. Two.”

“What!” Alvin put his hand over his chest and faked a hurt expression. “Excuse you but I gave you a magical evening sir!”

“Meh it was ok.”I shrug until I hear a loud thump and look down to see Alvin was on the floor. “Alvin get up off the floor .” I sigh as he crosses his arms in defiance. 

“I can't possibly stand knowing you didn't enjoy the most wonderful date you'd ever been on.”

“Alvin it was literally the only date I'd ever been  on… I’d have to go on a second date to determine that.”

Alvin suddenly froze before looking up at me with a smirk. “Your one smooth bastard you know that?”

“I have no idea what you're talking about… unless the answer is yes?”

Suddenly I was off the ground as Alvin had picked me up off the ground and spun me around to face him. “If that was your way of asking me to homecoming then my answer is definitely yes, but what if I had wanted to be the one to ask you?”

“Too slow I guess.” I shrug as Alvin laughed, his chest vibrating against mine. A loud car horn caught our attention as we both looked over to see Alvin's mom waiting for him.

“Guess my ride is here.”Alvin chuckles as he puts me back on the ground. “So i'll pick you up at 6 tomorrow?”

“If I don't pick you up first, slowpoke.” I tease  as he pouts at me as he walks away to his car only to freeze and quickly run back.

“I almost forgot something.”

Before I could respond Alvin gently grabbed the bottom of my chin and pulled me into a kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he pulled me closer by my waist as I could feel my cheeks grow warm. Eventually his mom honked her horn again causing us both to pull away, our faces both extremely red.

“I did say this date would be extremely cheesy.” Alvin laughed as I smirked. “Well that was pretty cheesy… but I’ll allow it.” I laugh as he hugs me again before running back to his moms car.

As they pulled off, my mom pulled up and rolled her window down to look at me.

“Hey Jaden how was your.. Why is your face so red? You're not about to catch on fire are you? Do you want me to get the fire extinguisher out of the trunk?”
