Blake hates his job. He wishes it wasn't necessary, but there's no one else who can do it.

He goes soldier to soldier, unseen as he whispers words of fear to them. He reminds himself over and over that it's to keep them vigilant, keep everyone safe… Still, he despises seeing the looks of terror on their faces when he's finished.

When it gets to be too much, Blake returns to his sanctuary. There stays the solace of his existence, his dragon. Dewdrop, the sole creature to not fear him. The two lounge in silence, for tomorrow Blake must return.
