7. Okay guys, we are at the window, waiting for the mail to come, hoping it's a letter from the University of Leroy.

I've never been so excited about something before, I hope that's what this heart racing feeling in my chest is. 

The mailman puts the mail in, and from my room on the second floor, it just looks like a bunch of bills, of course. As he leaves, I see my mom walking towards the mailbox, and of course Pickles is blocking my view now, better go downstairs myself, come on Pickles, off the seal, you know better. 

As I'm coming downstairs, my mom has the mail laid out on our dining table, as we all look over it, my mom picks out the letter from UOL, and begins to open it, sorry i'm going pretty slow, it's just so weird and exciting to get away from this fam...I mean to be in college. 

She opens it, but immediately gives it to my dad saying, "I can't do it, uh, you do it, too much for me, you are head of household after all." 

"Calm down, we've done this twice now." My dad opens it and unfolds the paper, the school colors are all over it, and he puts his glasses on to read it, he repeats the words to me, and they sound ambiguous right now, yeah, I know that word, everyone does I think, oh gosh, anyways, his face lights up a bit, causing my mom to look at the paper as well, and she shouts loudly, I mean, Pickles fell off of the window because of how loud she yelled, "YOU GOT IN!!" 

My dad even started laughing and saying, "what a relief, Kierra, you are going to college, I'm so glad after all the money I put down for this." 

"Oh, don't worry hon, she's finally going to be a student for real, and going to make a difference for the family, finally, she's meaningful." 

"Don't say that!" My dad says harshly at her, you know why, because everything became quiet, I took the paper, and...I threw it, yep, in a black household, I threw something on the ground, I didn't throw it at them though, I'm smart enough to not do that, I need to live to talk to you guys.

I started to say, "how could you say that? Am I not your daughter just like Keisha? Am I not as strong as Kaleb? Useful as Kevin and important like Kano?" 

They were both silent, my mom completely had seemed as if she lost her voice, maybe because of the loud shout, I mean as this is happening, Pickles is struggling to get up, he's such a fat cat. My dad was silently angry a little bit too as  well. It's always like this when I mention Kano, but with everybody else it just brings back his memories.

"I mean it, I try to make myself useful in life, I do, I've been hurting like this since I was six, please, I love you both, but don't make it seem like I'm nothing, I'm your child too, just like Kevin, Keisha, Kaleb, and Kano." 

"We know, just pick up the paper now." "You guys don't know!" 

"Kierra! Stop, understand what we just did for you, the money I spent for this, appreciate that, seriously appreciate that we love you enough to let you have a dorm in college for two years." My mother just stands there listening to my dad, I wanted to say that he only cared for money at this point, but...It would be too much explaining to do, I just got accepted, and I need to calm down and accept it. 

I picked up the sheet and said to them, "thank you," then I walked upstairs with Pickles following me, and I took the acceptance letter with me too. As I was going upstairs, I did hear them murmuring something, but I just tried to ignore that and leave, to my room. 

But, about an hour later, I woke up, because I fell asleep for some reason, with Pickles next to me, sleeping too, oh...Wait, I had ASMR on, that's why. Anyways though, I mostly woke up, not because it's night now, but because I heard my sister, and her boyfriend Amelio, yes they are official now. It was just her and Amelio, my brothers were gone, Kaleb overseas and Kevin working late again, even my dad was getting ready to work his night shift as a security guard, and my mother is a hair stylist, she does ours all the time.

Off topic, good grief, now I'm walking downstairs with Pickles and music is playing, and pizza is here! The best food ever, literally the best, thank you Italy. 

I come down and eat, not even getting a plate, just picking up pizza and eating it, with a cup of sprite. Oddly though, Amelio walks in, pushing back his hair and leaning over our kitchen island, looking at me only, smiling saying, "you gonna be a good girl in college?" I stopped eating for a sec, saying, "hm?" With food in my mouth. 

He wipes sauce off of my face, with his hands by the way, saying, "you know you are very beautiful, and you could easily get wild in college because of it, just warning you, it's what happened with me in college, ended up getting kicked out actually." 

I finished my food and said, "wow, that's weird, I wouldn't think so by looking at you." 

“Look closer and you will see then…" He winked at me and got a bit closer, at this point I couldn't even eat anymore, he stole my appetite. 

The look on his smirking face made me want to slap him, and being somewhat handsome wasn't going to stop me, but my sister did. She came in, but the way he turned to the sink, which was behind me, made it look normal. "I am so happy for you, so happy, we are going shopping tomorrow girl, because you are going to need a makeover for college, your homely outfits ain't gonna get it." 

"That's fine," I said. 

And we did just that, can't wait to give you an outlook of what I look like. And also, the night was fun, but Amelio kind of ruined it for me. Gosh, this is too long, gotta go.
