It’s All About Balance

It’s no secret that Latina and the Mutt both have different tastebuds. If you’ve read our coffee and matcha comics you know that the Mutt prefers more natural flavors, where as the Latina likes to enhance her food. It’s how we grew up and dating people with different taste buds can definitely make cooking together interesting. We decided to make a comic about our experience dating with our cooking preferences.
The very first time we cooked for one another we realized immediately how extreme our cooking styles were. Latina would use every spice in the house and would end up over spicing her food! ( she admits it, so its fine to say ;)) The Mutt would simply cook the food as is, no spices.NOTHING. Not even salt, not even pepper! His taste buds enjoy the food as they are, which is admirable to the Latina but she believes everything needs a little bit of something to spice it up. These differences definitely caused a bit of stress and chaos in the kitchen.
Oddly enough, our favorite thing to do together is to cook a meal. As extreme as our cooking styles are they always make the best meals. With the Mutt limiting the Latina’s spice intake and the Latina insisting on putting in just a little bit of spice ( as depicted accurately in the comic), our food always comes out phenomenal. I think because our food is always amazing together, we now make it essential to cook together regardless of who insists on doing the cooking that day. Our extremes have created the best middle ground for our cooking ! After all, it’s all about balance.
