When I get to my room Mark is sitting on my bed looking excited. I lay back in my bed still feeling a little woozy. "Cory, how was school?" Mark asked excitedly. "Good, I made a friend," I said smiling. "What's his name?" Mark asked. "Actually it's a girl her name is Alice," I said looking away from Mark so he didn't see me blush. "Oh it's a girl," Mark said laughing. "And she asked me to come to her house this weekend," I said still looking away from Mark. "Oh," he Mark trying not to bust out laughing. "I just don't know if dad would let me go," I said sitting up. "Well I can ask him if you could go," Mark said. "No, I can ask him," I said putting my backpack in the corner. "Well I will let you do your homework," Mark said. He got up and left my room. I lay back on my bed. My dad walks into my room and sits in my desk chair. "Hey Cory your brother said that you have to ask me a question," my dad said. "Well, my friend invited me over to her house this weekend and I want to ask you if I can go?" I said nervously. "I will think about, I will need to talk to her parents," my dad said. "Okay I will call her right now and let you talk to her dad," I said excitedly. I go on my phone and call her. "Hey Alice," I said. "Hey Cory," she said. "My dad wants to talk to your dad about me coming over this weekend," I said shyly. "Okay," she said before she walks away from the phone. I hand my dad the phone. My palms are sweaty and my face is red. My dad starts talking and after a while, he hands me my phone back. "Okay bye Alice," I said shyly. "Bye Cory," she said before hanging up the phone. I put my phone down and I look at my dad. "So can I go?" I ask quietly. "Yeah Friday morning you need to pack your bag and bring it to school so you can go to her house after school," my dad explains. "Thank you, Dad," I said quickly moving to my dad giving him a hug. "You're welcome," my dad said. I sit back on my bed. "Well I'm going to let you do your homework," my dad said before leaving my room. After that I was excited. I did my homework and then got ready for bed.
