So back then apparently 12 years old was the “OK” age to marry your child off to another family, so I went ahead and decided that as soon as she was 11 they wanted to marry her off, to show their desperation to pretty much get rid of her. Also… I learned this today because I was doing research, but apparently it took Vikings/old-Scandinavians years to plan a wedding. So even though they were engaged at a pretty young age they would eventually marry at a slightly more decent-not-really age. So I guess that's a positive thing? But poor Hel. :(
