The day has just started and Lilliana is ready to rip people apart in the most grotesque and bloody ways possible. Nierion remains on her shoulder, keeping her calm by nuzzling his head underneath her jaw as he whispers of encouragement and praise into her ears as she walks through the crowds of students, some of them are flying so that they don't have to deal with the foot traffic, but the air isn't much better. Although not by much, it is far better than the ground. She manages to weave through the crowds with little to no difficulty, Nierion remaining on her shoulders as she weaves through the crowded halls, just like the forest paths...but with people instead of the moving grasses and moss, Lilliana thought as she avoided touching other students as she goes to her next class,
"Your time in The Onyx Forest has been time well spent," Nierion praised as the redheaded teen sees that students a plenty are bumping into one another. Some getting completely trampled because of it. "Spending extended amount of time outdoors allows you to be skilled in places that not many would be skilled in. Weaving in and out of crowded rushing halls being one," Nierion slightly chuckles as his partner practically floats through the halls as she walks quickly to the next class dodging every student that comes her way. Making sure that none of them are able to touch her or her belongings.
This feat had not gone unnoticed by the teachers.
As the two make it to the next class. They were immediately swarmed by classmates, asking her how to they manage to weave throughout the crowded halls without bumping into anyone or trample someone. The teen didn't answer but the hybrid did speak for her. The teen didn't answer the students in a language they understood but it was clear to anyone; that it is meant for the hybrid to answer for her. As he answers them word for word of what the teen had told him to say.
The doors to the classroom had opened like a pair of wings as the students flood in as they need to go inside. Arrows were flown at all of them, students near the front used barrier spells which the arrow easily had gone through while Lilliana jumped out of the way, others had followed her example as she was near the middle of the sea of students. Physical Combat and Weapons, Lilliana thought as she continues to dodge multiple arrows that are being fired at not just her but her classmates as well. Some don't learn and continue using barrier/protection spells to only have the spells immediately shredded and the students getting all sorts of cuts upon them as they dodge once they see that barriers aren't going to work. She looks at the recent arrows that whizzed by her head and almost immediately recognized what kind of arrows they were, Dancer Arrows huh? Two can play that game, Lilliana thought as she plucks one from the ground, "Nierion. Go." Lilliana said holding up the arrow, it's a blue shaft with a green smooth yet serrated arrowhead and glittering white feathers that is at least three to four feet as the nock is a solid gemstone as it is a magic type weapon that involves the caster's dancing as the bow. And using this kind of weapon against hybrids is always a cautioned as hybrids may have defenses in place as Dancer Arrows are the go to weapons to fight hybrid creatures. As they are incredibly powerful and very real threats if some were to be hostile. Nierion takes the arrow in his mouth and hops off her shoulders changed his size to that of default size of small to smallish-medium dog.
He vanished from the onslaught of Dancer Arrows, the hybrid had a line of Dancer Arrows aimed at him as he vanished into the shadows; "where did he go?!" Azura asked as Lilliana landed next to her, "to end this bullshit." she answers, the turquoise haired girl summons a large golem that is taking a lot of the abuse, she kept diving out of the way of the magic arrows with a calm exterior unlike the rest of her classmates who are visibly panicking from the onslaught, how can they not see that the teacher is testing us? Lilliana thought as she jumps out of the way, time to change tactics, she thought as she stops the arrows in it's tracks. With a mixture of swing, ballet, tap and street. She had taken full control of the arrows that have been fired and the already shot ones. This is when the hybrid strikes, a mighty roar has been erupted throughout the room and they all look at the direction of the roar, the teacher, a tall; fit man with long pale dark blue and gray hair tied into a braid with a golden rhombus jewel at the end. Dressed nicely just like the teacher before, but is instead dressed in gold and pastel yellow, almost like a being of light. A glowing red rhombus broach upon his left breast wrapped around in gold wings. Red and green cufflinks upon his coat, a forest and chrysoprase green band upon his left ring finger, heavy duty boots of cream and mikado yellow...the boots are meant for heavy usage and hard kicks when combat is initiated, silhouette of wings coming from his back every time he blocked the furiously attacking hybrid who's administering incredibly powerful strikes. A Winged Paladin, huh? Figures, Lilliana thought as the onslaught of arrows have stopped going for the students and the focus for the teacher is now trying to remain alive and unscathed by the strikes of the hybrid that is coming after him. Lilliana whistles a quick two note tune, causing the hybrid to jump out of the way as the girl launched the arrows back at the teacher, the arrows changing slightly since it's a different dancer wielding the weapon now.
It's an absolute rain on these arrows upon the teacher, they have taken a more twilight coloring upon them. The hybrid goes back to his master on the ground, his silver claws fully drawn and ready to attack again upon her signal, his wings spread slightly in a downward position, his boysenberry and Prussian Blue underside glowing slightly, his fangs bared and have become sharpening every moment that passes. The arrows that are still haven't been fired are floating around her, the students look at the teen she looks around and spots Mintia and offers her hand towards her, "she's asking you if you wish to dance." Nierion speaks towards her and the nature girl nodded, ran towards her as she's covered in scratches as she tried to save her own hide using her own magic and vine like barriers. The two began to dance and twirl together, the Sadieden's injuries healing as the two danced, they stopped to face the teacher, mint green and twilight aura between the two and the arrows that have been flying around them now having a minty trail off of them like the tail of a comet. The arrows flew at the teacher although he blocked them. That is his mistake, as the arrows that have been blocked or landed aways from him, have sprouted mint vines and wrapped around his limbs the only way for him to be free is to unfurl his wings and completely burn the vines away as his wings are made of pure light, it's up to him if it can heal or harm.
"Excellent teamwork you three." he said his voice a baritone with a bit of an angelic tune to it, Azura had come next to the other two. The three girls look at the teacher as the hybrid retracts his fierce and battle ready state to that of calm and cuddly and jumps back onto his partner's shoulders. Still glaring at the paladin, "your familiar is quite powerful, Miss Shards." the paladin praises, the girl didn't answer but Nierion did,
"Partner. I am her partner." he hissed
"But are you not her familiar? I thought she would have a familiar by now. At sixteen all young witches and magic users have a familiar in some shape or form." the teacher replied, slightly surprised at the hybrid's hostility and amount of lip
"That's depending upon the person. We have a partnership, if you want a familiar's contract. Then talk to The Dualist, as we need a third party to draw it up and validate it." Nierion growled at him.
The teacher looks at the redheaded girl; changing tactics, "Are you going to let your familiar speak to me like that?"
"Partner, you glowing pigeon! And don't look at her, she ain't gonna speak to you. She doesn't know you. She sure as hell doesn't trust you. You won't get a peep from her." Nierion snarls, Lilliana sharply moved her left shoulder, he moved his wing over her head, Prussian Blue and boysenberry sparkled and shined over her, a lilac and lavender mist going over her head; deeply inhaling the mist in deep breaths, "I am her voice when her voice has shut down. So if you want to talk to her. You have to speak with me." Nierion growls with gritted teeth and hissing through his fangs. That had given the paladin another surprise as not only had a 'familiar' spoken without the master's permission but has become the voice for said master. Lilliana had allowed Nierion to have full independence. As what they call a partnership. It is more cooperative than anything else and their teamwork as the class has seen is impeccable. Something that spell casters a plenty would yearn endlessly and most likely kill for. Nierion's barriers are something that most familiar's won't do willingly since their voices have been silenced the majority of the time; that includes their own thoughts and actions, the majority of familiars become voiceless puppets. If they still have their own will, they better well keep it hidden.
The students were seated, the classroom looks akin to the a dojo and the chairs are both on the floor and in the air. Students a plenty have gotten bandages of all the injuries that they've gotten over the arrows. Azura and Mintia leaned over to the redhead whom are standing side by side in the center of the dojo, "how are you able to dodge all of that? Not even most Battle Sages do that." Azura asks
"And those dance moves aren't something I recognize." Mintia adds
"'Bold of you to assume that I didn't know how to dance before I came to Sofia's care.'" Nierion says as the teen says in a different language that no one could understand, the hybrid isn't lying about being her voice when she herself can't speak. They look at her with absolute shock and their voices died in their throats. It didn't help that the girl had said this in a low voice that only he can hear.
Class continues.
The paladin, Professor Avian; gives examples of the weapons and properties of said weapons. Magical or not. He even had a mace passed around the class for the students to have a closer look at it. He is considered one of the best teachers in the school.
"Miss Shards; would you like to show your greatest hunts in the past year?" Professor Avian says when he gets to the hunting section and many of the students, Azura and Mintia included had been quietly bragging about their best hunts.
The girl and the hybrid look at each other, clearly having a debate if they should tell them about any of their hunts (surprisingly, the hybrid is all for it and Lilliana is hardcore against), the class see the two pairs of eyes turn aquamarine as they have a silent 'conversation' (it's a debate that can put politicians to shame); the very symbol of their partnership is the birthstone of the witch and the alternative birthstone will become the shield and distress beacon if either partner is in danger. Not many partnerships would get that far though...not to the birthstones at least. "I understand that you are hesitant. I'll tell you my own greatest hunt if it puts any ease upon you." Avian said
"Oh this I GOTTA hear." said a new voice, every head snapped to the door, seeing The Dualist leaning against the doorframe,
"Ah! Sofia! I didn't expect you until a little later." Avian says slightly suprised
"And miss my student brag? Not even in your wildest dreams." she says as she walks forward, they all blink and Sofia stands directly before the professor. None of them sensed magic.
That's straight speed.
She's fast! Thought all the students, Lilliana remained calm...a little too calm as she and her hybrid have put the debate on hold, the outskirts of their eyes being aquamarine.
"You mean she doesn't boast about her achievements?" Avian asks as Sofia summons a chair
"Nope. Getting her to brag or boast about ANYTHING might as well be pulling the teeth of a wraith." she answers nonchalantly, "in fact. There're some stories that she hasn't told me and I've been begging her to tell me. She also got her hybrid to agree with her about the silence." she admits as she looks at her student who broke her poker face and gave a sly and coy smirk that radiated smugness. "Smug little minx." she groans as she turns her head to the professor, "get her to talk and you're a miracle worker." She said
"Have you not told her your hunts?" Avian inquired
"With the imagery crystals, tapestries and the blades I used for said feats." Sofia answers immediately, her fingers showing the items in a golden projection.
"And she still didn't talk?" His voice shows his surprise
"Not a peep." she confirms with a sigh
"She must've told you something." he pressed the red clad beauty
It showed she's racking her brain for anything her pupil may have told her, "There's only a few stories she's told me." she said rubbing her temples
"Well that's something." he cheers, happy to find something
"It was when I was ill." she finished, any or all light of optimism died in his eyes. "As I said. She's not one to say anything about her achievements not even when begged...until recently. That is." that got everyone's attention, "she had just gotten to say about her greatest hunts. About three to four months before she was enrolled here. So yes. Her talking about her accomplishments is very much recent and may have been set back three to four years because of the environment shake up." she explained. The other students now look at the redheaded teen with a new understanding...she's going to be a lot harder to crack than most would like to think.
"Is there any way to get her to speak about any of her achievements relating to what we're talking about?"
"A guessing game. She'll say yes or no of each guess."
"Anything else?"
She lifts her hand and hands him a pitch black pliers with glowing bluish-green gems and paint upon it.
"All right. All right."
"You're probably wondering why Sofia's here. Simple. She's one of the best fighters within the realms. She's here to demonstrate just how far physical prowess can help you in the long run." Avian says as he levitates a saber from his desk. Sofia comes from her golden chair.
Let the lesson (fight) begin.
