Chapter II-III:
Great Hero
The ear-splitting noise quickly returned the Queen back to her senses.
No, no, no. What kind of fool would think of such a straightforward and excruciating option?
Eilane knew that any kingdom required their rulers to possess a delicate knack for intricacies and an ability for political maneuvering.
There’s no way I’d make a musclehead like him King.
Not to mention, he was forged since youth to do battle. Now that it’s peaceful and there’s no demons or war, he hasn’t really done anything for the last couple of years.
Then isn’t he just on the same level as an unemployed person?
An unemployed musclehead.
Are the rude thoughts the Queen concluded about the great hero, Mithius.
Droves of people tried to reach towards the bright light that is the great hero, causing a frenzy. In the commotion, the woman decided upon something. Stepping forward, she easily shoved the people in front of her aside.
"W-What in God's green is that arm strength?" Could be overheard by a pushed aside mob character.
With a clear voice, she bowed her head so that her hood would cover her face as she addressed Mithius:
“O great hero! The church would like to welcome your arrival. It is on the far, east end of the city. Please, you must speak with them. Only you can set straight the corrupt politicians who plundered taxpayer money and wasted it upon worthless roads no one except the wealthy will use!”
The sudden request brought silence upon the crowd, before it bubbled up into outrage.
“Taxes were increased for something so useless!?”
“What! They done robbed us!”
“Great hero! You have to help us working folk out and set them straight!”
Using the momentum of the crowd, she ducked away but kept within the crowd until she heard him say, “Calm down good people, I will personally speak to the church and work together to right this injustice.”
A smile played on her lips as she pictured the look on those damned minister’s faces when accused by the great hero and church.
The church also just so happened to be on the opposite end of the city to where the royal palace was.
Hmph. That's what they get for approving useless construction behind my back.
With a snap of her dainty fingers, Eilane Erst teleported back into her private study. And so, the Queen procrastinated the idea of marriage [with suitor 1/100] today as well.
