This is basically what happened. Out of all the schools I applied for and went in person to leave my physical portfolio and resume, this was the only school that was closed. All the other schools were practically open and still operating for whatever school activities, even in the middle of summer vacation, I believe. Or for whatever school summer programs they had. This school. I remember that no one was there, and the doors were locked. So how they even found out about me is a mystery. Most of the time, people prefer to see a physical face to an online resume and application. The only impression I had was an interview the week before, and I was pretty sure I didn't come off as a confident teacher.

But the fact that they had the interview probably a month before the beginning of the school year, and then calling 1-2 weeks after, that's stretching it. It happened to 2 other college-mates of mine. almost 1-2 weeks without a plan, and expecting us to be ready...quite overwhelming.

Now why was I hesitant? Well for starters, despite being job-desperate, I was not looking forward to being a teacher in the first place.
At that time, I had applied for a position as a substitute teacher near my area.
Most importantly, I was perhaps 1-2 months away from meeting the Shonen Jump Manga contest deadline. And that's why the Sugar Dominion short was put on the shelf (I still need to finish toning a few pages).

And yes, I blubbered like a socially, awkward idiot. Yes, I actually recalled that bible verse at THAT moment. And that's how I trapped myself with the worst life decision ever. Doing something I knew I wasn't going to like, all for the sake of "Hey, let's give it a try. Who knows!"
