We walked around the motel until we found my room which was quite a ways away from our previous room. I opened the door and though it wasn't much I was just glad to get my own bed. I flopped on it and sighed in relief. Skylar giggled at me.
Then she turned to leave.
"Wait, you can sleep here if you want. It's only for a few hours."
"Jade will have a fit." She said.
"So what, you're broken up."
"On a break." She corrected me.
"Same difference, besides it's just sleeping."
She eyed me I did my best to look innocent. Then with a sigh, she turned up the AC and crawled into bed with me. I smiled and wrapped my arms around her.
"Only because I don't feel like walking back," she grumbled.
"Fine by me, Wifey."
"No, no pet name." she closed her eyes and grumbled.
"Can't help it, Wifey."
"You beast," she yawned.
I pulled the covers over us and closed my eyes to sleep.
I flinched awake when Skylar's phone started going off. It was around 11 in the morning. I groaned a complaint and rolled over.
"Hello?" she answered.
I could hear Jade's shrill voice and put a pillow over my head.
"Sorry, sorry. I'm coming. We got another room because you were hogging the bed. No, I promise. I'll be there in a second, let me get up. Stop freaking out, k... love you too." Then she hung up.
"Ugh!" I groaned.
"Time to get up." She smacked me playfully on the butt.
"Five more minutes," I grumbled.
"Not my fault this wasn't well thought out."
"Why you," I smacked her with the pillow.
"Hey!" She giggled and used the covers as a shield.
"It was spur of the moment!" I hit her again.
"Okay, okay, I give." She giggled.
I tackled her to the bed and smirked at her.
"Darleen," she warned.
"We still have time." I leaned into her.
"Stop it," she pushed me off.
I sighed.
"Come on, please." I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her back down onto the bed before she could escape.
She huffed but relaxed into my grasp.
"You can't fight me, wifey," I whispered into her ear.
"Darleen, you know we can't," she said.
"I need you," I whimpered into her neck.
She tried to break free but I held firm.
"I will have you," I kissed her softly on her neck.
She shuddered and squirmed in my grasp. I let my hands travel slowly up her shirt, just barley caressing her soft skin. She let out a shaky breath. My fingertips touched her breast and she grabbed my hand to stop me, squeezing hard but not saying anything.
I moved my lips to her ear, just pecking it softly. I could hear her breathing getting more labored, see her skin turning red.
"Darleen," she begged.
"Yes?" I smirked and kissed her ear again.
"Stop it,"
"Is that really what you want?" I whispered.
Her hand loosened on my own.
"I want you." I moved my other hand lower, pushing past the hem of her pants.
She took a shaky breath and let out an airy moan.
Goosebumps rose on my skin. I finally grabbed her breast fully in my hand and she took a sharp breath, her body jolting at my touch.
I let my other hand travel even lower, I could feel her heat on my skin.
"Say it, say you want me," I said.
"Darleen..." she whimpered.
"Yes, say my name." I rubbed her through her panties.
It jolted her back to reality; she jerked out of my grasp and fell off the bed. I quickly went to investigate, she was backed against the wall, breathing heavily as she tried to get under control. God, she looks so hot like that.
When she opened her eyes she looked at me with so much pain on her face. My heart hurt for her. I tried to get up and move to her but she quickly got up and made a break for the door.
"Skylar wait," I called.
She paused by the door.
"I'm sorry," I said.
"No more Darleen, I mean it." She said seriously.
"Skylar I'm sorry, I was just—"
"No! I said to stop. Please respect my decision."
"You don't have to fight me, I know you want it," I said.
She turned to look at me and shook her head in disappointment.
"You know it's true." I push.
"It still doesn't give you the right to decide what I want and when I want it. This is my choice, not yours. I said I need space, I said I don't want to get back with you. Please stop doing this to me. When and if I ever want to get back with you, I'll let you know, but until then please keep your hands off of me." she moved to leave.
"Skylar please," I catch her by the wrist.
"I love you, Darleen, so listen to me when I tell you, you need to work on this. You can't just take what you want when you want it. I'm a person, I have my own needs and wants. What I want right now is space to think. If you want to show me you love me, you'll give me what I need. So far the only thing you've shown me is that you want in my pants again." She yanked her wrist free.
"I'm sorry..." I let my head fall in shame.
She sighed and grabbed my hand in hers; I meet her eyes.
"Just stop trying to claim me like I'm some prize. The way you are acting right now, this isn't the girl I fell for."
"I can be her. I can be what you need."
"I know you can, but she's not the girl I need right now. What I need right now is a friend. It sucks when my only close friends are also my ex's. Because now we can't go back to just being friends. At least that is the conclusion I am coming to."
I sighed and rested my forehead against hers.
"I miss you," I whimper.
"Stop doing this to yourself, Darleen. Stop looking to the past, try and see what's right in front of you. Move on to bigger and better things. That's what I want more than anything for you. I can't be that for you. I have my own issues I need to work through. You deserve better than me."
"No one is better than you." I wrap my arms around her waist.
She sighed and pulled back.
"I knew I shouldn't have come. I was just... I wanted to try and fix this. Fix the friendship we used to have. I don't want to spend the rest of this trip wondering when you are going to try and get me alone again. If that is what this is all about if you are only doing all of this to try and—"
"I'm not!" I quickly cut her off.
"I want to believe you." she once again grabbed my hands in her own.
"I'm not Skylar, promise. This is my way of saying fuck you to my parents, trust me. It was never about that. I just... when I'm around you..." I can't even figure out how to word everything. How to say it all just perfectly so she will take me back.
"Stop looking back. It's time you move forward." She said softly but I couldn't tell if she was saying that to herself or to me.
Before I could push the subject, she pulled away from me and quickly walked out of the room.
