Chapter 5: Costumes
Back to Uraraka’s P.O.V
We were all coming out in our Hero costumes.
Everyone had some flashy cool stuff, but I was worried about mine.
I then saw Deku.
“Oh cool, Deku!” I said seeing him, “Your costume is pretty spectacular, not too flashy.”
I was looking at mine.
“I probably should’ve been a bit specific about mine though haha, this skin tight costume isn’t really my style.”
“Well I think it looks great,” Deku said making me blush.
I smiled.
A few weeks earlier…..
Mr. Aizawa was having an announcement about the Hero and Sidekick thing.
“So as of today, the separation of heroes and sidekicks, has become null and void,” he said, “Everyone will take various classes and be able to use them in various ways, whether as a hero or not.”
There were cheers all around the school.
Even Coach Overdrive was amazed at what was happening.
A lot of classmates were happy about that.
They cheered for Deku who was responsible for the change.
I was happy for him as he was finally being accepted.
His costume honestly looked spectacular.
I could tell he also got a little help from our classmate Starla.
Those two have become close to each other over the weeks.
From what I could tell she seemed nice, but I had this strange feeling whenever she was around Deku….. I’m sure its nothing.
“Well well well, you all look amazing,” All Might said looking at us.
He looked at Deku’s costume and secretly chuckled.
“So today’s activity is going to be…… Heroes and Villains,” he said, “Two groups of 2 will fight each other either as heroes or villains and complete a specific objective.”
People were asking questions about what to expect.
“Well how about we get to all of that once we start the matches,” All Might said, “And now, I will draw out names.”
The names were drawn out.
As if by fate, Deku and I were on the same team.
“Wow, what luck!” I said.
Truth be told, Deku and I have had each other’s backs since we were little.
My parents died in an accident, and Deku’s parents took me under their wing.
Deku showed me kindness and everything since we were kids, and I have him to thank for the good times.
Bakugo was glaring at Deku as if he wanted to murder him.
“And now the first teams to fight will be……. THESE GUYS!”
He pulled out group A and D.
“Group A will be the heroes whereas Group D will be the villains.
There was another kid with glasses, Tenya Iida.
His quirk involved technological advances.
He created rocket thrusters which allowed him to move fast.
Bakugo and Iida went inside.
“Think like a villain and keep the heroes from getting to the rocket.
Deku and I were coming up with a strategy.
He seemed distracted.
“Deku what’s wrong?” She asked.
He pulled me to the side.
“Uraraka, we’ve been best friends for years now,” he said.
“Yes,” I nodded.
“I think its time I trusted you with a secret,” he said.
“What is it?” I asked, “You can tell me anything.”
“what you saw at the cafeteria…. Me using my quirk?” He said, “Its not really mine.”
I was surprised.
“It was passed down to me, and I still have trouble controlling it.”
I smiled.
“Well that doesn’t change the fact that you’re my friend, but I appreciate you trusting me with this,” I said.
We were inside the building trying to look for the bomb.
Deku was acting strange.
“Deku what is it?” I asked him.
“Bakugo’s here,” he said, “Somehow I can sense…… LOOK OUT!”
He pushed me out of the way before the explosion happened.
“Hmph, nice dodge,” Bakugo said looking at Deku.
“You were sure to come at me from behind,” Deku said, “I’ve done research on you and the others.”
“I think its time I gave you a little payback from last time,” Bakugo said.
“I told you that wasn’t my fault,” Deku said.
Bakugo came at him and Deku dodged throwing him around the other wall.
People were looking at us fighting him.
Bakugo chuckled.
“Just who do you think you are?”
“I am Deku,” he said, “Hear me roar!”
I was happy.
“He used the name,” I said.
I sometimes called him Deku which means ‘You can Do it’.
Bakugo came charging at us again.
“I’ll mess you up just enough not to get disqualified!”
Deku flicked his fingers and shot an air blast at him knocking him away.
“Uraraka, you get to the bomb,” he said, “I’ll hold him off.”
“Roger,” I said.
I went to the top floor to find the bomb.
Deku and Bakugo kept fighting.
With his knowledge in martial arts, he was able to hold his own.
There was this strange green energy flowing within him and it was making his attacks a bit stronger.
“So you got some fight in you I see,” Bakugo said, “But that won’t be enough to stop me!”
Everyone was observing Bakugo.
“Looks like brute strength feeds his ego,” Asui said.
Starla was watching Deku.
“He’s incredible,” she said.
Meanwhile I made it to the bomb.
Iida was practicing his villain role, and he was really getting into it.
“Alright,” I whispered to myself, “Now to just get to the bomb.”
I quietly snuck around.
“So you’ve come,” he said.
“Shit.”
“Sorry young do gooder, but I cannot allow you to get near the bomb!”
He laughed evilly.
I was thinking of a battle plan.
He clearly moved some objects out of the way so I couldn’t make them weightless.
“Uraraka, what’s going on?” Deku asked.
“Iida found me!” I said.
“Just keep him busy while I deal with Bakugo.”
Bakugo came at him again and attacked.
Deku blocked the attack and did a reverse kick knocking him back through walls.
Aizawa was amazed.
“Impressive.”
Bakugo tried using his quirk to pin Deku down but Deku was quick.
There was a green light surrounding him again.
I tried to make it to the rocket but Iida held me back.
“Your quirk poses no threat without any objects.”
I realized he was right. Unless….
Bakugo was looking at Deku.
“Nowhere to run kid,” he said.
He used his quirk.
Deku pushed his hands forward and some kind of energy blast came out. They both flew upwards startling us.
“What the….” Iida said.
I used this as an opportunity to make myself weightless and jump to the bomb.
“Team A wins!” All Might said.
“We won,” I said.
I had to vomit because I used my quirk too much.
Deku was in the hospital getting bandaged up from the damage.
He amazed me the most.
I was waiting for him to come inside, when Denki approached me.
“You’re that gravity girl aren’t you?” He asked.
“I am,” I answered.
I honestly didn’t wanna talk to him right now, I wanted to be around Deku.
“So, what do you say you and me head out sometime and grab a bite,” he said, “What kind of things are you into?”
“Well, I like anything sweet,” I said before I saw Deku, “Deku!”
I ran towards him.
Denki looked annoyed.
“Always stealing my spotlight.”
Suddenly Starla got in front of me.
“Wow you were pretty amazing,” she said.
I decided to step away allowing them to talk.
Bakugo pulled me to the side.
“You like him don’t you?” He asked.
I gave in to my emotions.
“Yes….. I do,” I said, “But he’d never go with someone like me.”
“I doubt that,” he said, “He’s got guts, and he’s an expert on heroes. Not to mention he gave you that plan and you pulled it off.”
I realized he was right.
“Listen I don’t really care what happens, but when the timing is right, just act.”
Deku approached me.
“What did he want?” He asked.
“He just told me good job, and that I was lucky to have a great friend,” I said smiling.
Deku smiled.
