As soon as he opened the door he was hit with a wave of heat as Jaden was sitting on the floor in the center of his room.He was on fire from head to toe and the whirlwinds he was creating were caring the flames even higher.Droplets of water were floating around the room letting CJ know that his so had been crying earlier.

“Wow… this is the second time I’ve found you crying.” CJ joked and to his relief Jaden started laughing instantly. One of his favorite things about Jaden was his carefree laughter as it was one of the many things he had missed when his family left. It was so contagious that CJ couldn't help laughing himself as the flames surrounding his son disappeared as his laughter continued. The whirlwinds snuffed themselves out and the tears that were floating around the room had fallen to the floor as he wiped his eyes.

“I didn't hear you come in d-... are you fine with me calling you dad?”

“Jaden you can call me whatever you want.Why do you ask?”

“CJ… I know you're not my biological dad.”

Jaden’s response had caught CJ completely off guard. He was beginning to realize that Autumn has not given their son enough credit when it came to how smart he actually was, but then again he expected nothing less considering how clever his biological father was.

“Ok.. how did you figure that out?” CJ chuckled as he sat at the end of Jaden’s bed. Jaden smirked as he got up off of the floor and sat down next to him. “Well I was actually only 50% certain, but now you’ve just confirmed it.”

It was official-she definitely hadn't given him enough credit.

Autumn was gonna kill him.

“Plus you're a terrible liar.” Jaden laughed as CJ began to blush from his own embarrassment. “So if you know I’m not your dad… do you know who is?”

CJ watched as Jaden fell silent before looking up at him. “Yeah I do, and honestly I kinda already knew.” CJ stared at him in confusion before smirking.”Ok then how did you figure it out?”

“Well for starters whenever I see Mr. Jameson at school he's always really clingy, he stares at me wherever I go, and he seems so desperate for my approval that I began to suspect something was up early on. I just wasn't sure what…. But then you guys tried to sell me on that half-assed story and it all started to make sense. I mean if you had told me that Jameson had discovered my powers later on I probably would have believed it but what tipped me off is that he showed up at the hospital not too long after my birth.”

“What part about that made it so obvious?”

“Because..” Jaden began “Mom told me my gifts didn’t show up until I was almost 3 years old, but he was there 2 weeks after my birth.The only reason he would’ve wanted me so bad is if he had every right to want to keep me, or he knew what my gifts would be before anyone else, and the only way he could know that is if he and I have the same gifts.”

CJ would be lying if he said he wasn't impressed because Jaden had hit the nail right on the head. He and his father did in fact have the same powers, but that's not why he wanted to have custody of him in the beginning since his gifts had not revealed themselves yet, so in the beginning all he really wanted was his son. Whether or not that's all he wants now is still uncertain, but one thing for sure was that he would do anything to get Jaden.

CJ chuckled as he rubbed the back of his head. “If you could figure all of that out then why did your mother tell me that you're failing physics?” “DO you wanna take the time to figure out all of those chemical equations?”

CJ had no answer as Jaden smiled triumphantly. “Thought so.”

“Ok all joking aside… how are you feeling?” Jaden suddenly started laughing sarcastically. “Dad… my biological father has been stalking me for reasons that we still don't know.” Jaden sighed as he ran his hands through his hair. “Can I please get the truth from you?”

CJ figured he would ask him that as he slowly got up from the bed and walked to the window.

“Well… I guess this all started when my brother and I joined a mafia.”

“YOU DID WHAT!?!”
