The containment room once set up and connected to the site's power was built around the box as it sat on the table, Morgane noticed it was only really large enough for two people to be inside it with what ever tools might be necessary to complete the examination process. Curie after going over the work Dylan did on building the containment room walked over to their tram and rifled through one of the containers they brought with and pulled out two hazmat suits designed for working with biological hazards. Curie then walked over and while handing them to Morgane and Dylan said. “The room looks to be sufficiently constructed for the task at hand, and me as well as the Director have decided to use this examination as a test for both of you youngsters.” As Morgane pauses in taking the suit Curie continues, “this will be your test to end your internship. Yes, I realize you both just started them, however all of your age group are excelling at you career fields swiftly. Also, I am also fairly sure that you will be using Morgane's better half on this project before you complete it. As he seems so well versed in almost everything it would only be natural.”
Morgane slowly takes the hazmat suit thinking on what Curie just said, that would mean that we would be able to live within the city residences a lot sooner than thought of. Destin already had a home in an apartment above the storage room of the Smithy. Great that also means mom will be getting worse about putting me and Triton together as a couple. Not that it would never happen, most of us in this age group don't feel we are ready for a permanent partnership as yet.
The two of them step into their suits Morgane making sure to strap her weapons as close to her body as possible to ensure they don't break through the suit. Her sword pommel winds up digging into her side however, then the two of them enter the containment room turning on their internal O2 tanks as per the protocols for using the containment with a possible bio hazard. Inside the room besides the box on the table there was a small sealed compartment used for transferring tools and supplies in and out of the room as needed with a sterilization unit attached to it. Morgane noted that a cutter like what is used for cutting the amalgam material used in their walls is in the compartment. She hears her radio turn on and hears Curie's deep voice, “we thought it best to use a cutting tool verses using 'the bigger hammer' rule.” Morgane chuckled as everyone knows 'the bigger hammer' rule, that's the rule where if you need to open something and can't figure out how you use a hammer and if it doesn't work you find a bigger one till it opens.
Morgane responded to Curie, “good as I don't think 'the bigger hammer' rule is a good idea in this case; we might break something.” Morgane then switched to talking to the director, “can you put one of the clip boards and a pencil in the compartment so I can take notes. I think it's best to not use ink in here.” Then before Dylan or Morgane could get near the compartment the Director sets the items she requested inside it, Morgane did note that the Director put a great deal of paper on the clip board before setting it inside the compartment.
Morgane takes out the clip board and Dylan grabs the cutting tool, it looked like just a simple glass cutting too; however Morgane knew it had a diamond edge. Morgane recalled how amusing it was when the Smiths had tried to make a sword out of diamond as it held edges wonderfully. The problem it seems is if you create a diamond that large it tends to be brittle and shatters very easy, even sized as small as a dagger it does. Dylan turns to look her in the face and Morgane could hear the suit to suit radio turn on, “were you just thinking of the diamond sword Morgane?” Dylan asked, Morgane is surprised and answers Dylan. “umm, yes I was; why did you start thinking on it as well?” Dylan nods his head and then he speaks to both the Director and Curie, “Can you patch us through to Triton? I think we need to bring this up to him now rather than later so he can think on it.” The Director agrees and Morgane can see him heading to the on site computer.
While the Director is arranging the radio connection Morgane and Dylan walk towards the box as it sits on the table and both pause in front of it Dylan waving a hand at Morgane to do her preliminary look over the outside of the box in more detail. There was already a few different indentification glasses of different strengths sitting on the table as well as a few varied sized collection jars.
Morgane picks up one of the glasses and peers closely at the materiel the box is comprised of, bending slightly to look at it from one angle and noticed something. “The outer 'glass', if you want to call it that appears to be green; almost the same color as the Star of the Sea.” Dylan picks up another of the glasses and copies Morgane's actions and then agrees with her, and then Triton speaks through their radio's.
“So I hear you have a mystery for me to solve, what is it?” Morgane smiled as she knew Triton loved puzzles and this certainly was a puzzle. She answers Triton, “well; twice today when I have thought of an event in our past Dylan has seen the same memory in his mind as well. We considered since it happened twice it would be better to bring it up now rather than later.” Morgane waits the few minutes Triton apparently needed to process the information. “That is an odd occurrence, sounds a bit like telepathy as I am guessing you two probably saw the same details from the same perspective?” The three of them talked for a few minutes about the two instances including what was seen and the perspective as well as any details Dylan and Morgane could think of. From what they could guess, Triton was right, it was the same exact details; which would make it telepathy. “I'm going to head down to you the librarian agrees with me that this should be looked at. Since they have the motorized bikes here I should be there in about ten minutes.” Triton turns off his radio then, knowing that he would be true to his word Morgane and Dylan continued their examination of the outside of the box.
From what they could tell the blue color they could see was an effect of the metal portion of the amalgam compound was a blue color probably brighter than they are currently seeing it, while the glass was a greenish color close to the color of the Star of the Sea. Combined they formed a turquoise color sort of, as the two separate colors appeared to shift in shade almost as if it were alive. “That is an odd color mo chridhe, was the box present when the occurrences happened?” Morgane blushed in her suit when Triton called her that, then realized he used a private channel she looked outside the containment room and saw him looking at a 3D image with Curie and the Director. He apologized then, “sorry that just came out; it's as if I am feeling a strain on my emotions the moment I came near the Dig Site.” Morgane thought about that a moment then considered that she had been concerned about her mother's meddling in their life when the idea of their internship ending came up. Which isn't normal, she normally just brushed off her mother's attempts at interference; this was defiantly odd behavior.
Morgane sets her clipboard down and turns on her open radio channel, “well I do not see any reason to not cut the box open now. I cannot see anything else we can determine from the outside of it at this point..” Dylan picks up the cutter and first slices off some of the 'glass' bits from one of the sides Morgane noting it was defiantly a lighter shade of the Star of the Sea, before placing them in collection jars and setting them aside. Then Dylan takes the cutting tool and proceeds to cut the box so they can just lift the top off just barely below where they started hearing the 'hollow' sound in it. “This material seems to be a tad bit more dense than what we use to build our walls with,” Dylan noted as he kept cutting. Morgane agreed with his estimation as it was taking him a great deal longer than it would to simply cut a segment of one of their walls the same size. That would take a couple of minutes, ten minutes later he sets the cutting tool down and slowly picks up the top of the box. That's when Morgane finds herself on another world entirely.
