Episode 1 : Coping Mechanism

Location: Kopanong Secondary School

Time: 10:40

Neo would reach the girl that was calling her out then he would be seen looking at his watch on his right wrist , the digital wrist watch would indicated that it's definitely 10:40 which implies that it has been 10 minutes since the mathematics class started . The girl who was known as Jenny , short for Jennifer would grab Neo by his school Blazer and start dragging him towards the class because he was procastinating

Luckily they would reach the class with the teacher not present at that moment as they would take their seats quickly ,with the young man taking a seat on the second row from the right hand side row , at the middle of that row and Jennifer would take her seat at the front near the door. The class would commerce . Moments later the bell would ring as it was now the Science class , as they got up to head towards the school laboratory, Jenny would approach Neo as she would gently place her hand on his shoulders, whispering

"You owe me one for not snitching on you , and for taking my precious time to go outside the class and go hunting the whole school for you"

"You should've , but thanks anyways" Neo would reply as he would quickly smile but it was fake as he was used to faking his emotions . The blonde haired girl , with red lips which indicated that she used lipstick before leaving her house , although it's against the rules she still did it and reapplies it everytime she's forced to wipe it off her lips , her school skirt would be shorter than other girls , which only says she's a rule breaker and is a troublemaker. She would slap Neo on the back of his head then run off laughing

The Class would go on inside the science laboratory. After the last bell rang , the rest of the class would rush towards the class to grab their school bags and immediately head home. The young man would stretch his arms as he would then start walking towards the city which was near the school , passing the park which were the kids that usually gave him trouble hangout , but that day they would be nowhere to be seen. After reaching the taxi rank ( public transportation rank) he would wait for his friends Ole and Nthekeng.

"AAAAAAAAYYYYYYOOOOO!!!"

A voice would be heard from afar from a pale light skinned , tall heightened guy in his green blazer showing his from a different school , brownish hair color with shortened hair. Neo would sight as he thought , "Ole is so loud , darn"

He would get grabbed and placed in a headlock quickly because his shorter than Ole as he would start rubbing his head while laughing , messing it up

"Heeeeyyy , cut it out dude! Sheeessh , you always do this to me yo "

Ole would let him go as he continues laughing , while his hand is wrapped around his stomach area then a few minutes steps would be not be heard and a black figure would be seen standing quietly behind them without moving a muscle like a predator waiting on it's prey to do one wrong move then it catches it. "BOOOOM!" he would shout loud near their ears as Ole would jump , but Neo would turn around while his face was not showing any emotions or distress , seemingly like he knew Nthekeng would appear and do that.

"Don't creep up on us like that , you bitch ass nigga! goddamnit ! you scared the soul outta me literally"

Ole would say to the brown skinned , tall heightened guy but he was just inches left to reach Ole's height still leaving Neo as the shortest guy in their Trio , the red haired lad with spiky hair would only show his tongue to Ole but unfortunately got punched in the face by Ole

"Hahaha! Now that's funnier, hurts like a motherfucker doesn't it?!! "

Ole would smirk evily as the taxi would stop near them as they got inside. Nthekeng would take off his blue blazer then take a nap , Ole and Neo would conversate with each other to pass time

They all got to their destination which was a quiet suburban neighborhood with mansions all over , they all separated. Neo would open the door to his house as he would then pop out his anti-depressants pills then drowned them with some water inside his mouth as he would reminsce

"We all have problems , and ultimately those problems cause stress. We end up with chronic stress that cause mental health issues such as depression , anxiety etc. This mental disorders cause everyone to seek a way out or a escape from them even if it's for a moment that's where drugs come in , unhealthy eating habits , joining gangerism activities to feel welcome , and become easily exposed to peer pressure which can result to teenage pregnancy , sexually transmitted diseases , crime etc."

He would make a quick peanut butter and jam sandwich then go up the stairs towards his room and the basement , as more memories flashed before him

"sucidal thoughts can make a person attempt to do them , I did too , my first one wasn't a success , as I tried to hang myself with a rope , I was discovered by my father , after getting discharged from hospital , corporal punishment was awaiting me at the house. Second time , I was threatened to be put in a mental institution because I was "crazy" and my mother organized "Bomme Ba Thapelo" ( Women Of Prayer = Sesotho > South African Language ) for an exorcism since I was possessed?"

He would then start eating as he would reach down under his bed grabbing a huge container that contained razor blades with blood stains on them , with other ones without any stains , he would take a new one out , sat on the bed

"Afraid of going to a mental institution , I went by their rules , took medication , started watching Japanese animation , of course I'd start with the Otaku starter pack which is Dragonball Franchise , One Piece , Naruto etc

Started listening to music and doing other things to pass time "

He would look at his arm which was full of cuts on them as he would then attempt to cut himself again but the doorknob would be seen turning , the door getting pushed open
