"Can you focus for one minute?" Jumin demanded, snatching the pen that Parker was spinning out of his hand.
"But I don't want to," Parker groaned as he glanced around the quiet cafe that Jumin recommended. "This is too boring! Why do we even get homework?"
"You had the whole week to do it. Why didn't you do it once you got home before the vacation started?" He asked.
"Don't you remember? I didn't get time, because you stayed over till Sunday that weekend," Parker replied while he rested his head on the table. "But it was fun."
"I guess," Jumin sighed. "And after I left?"
"I was distracted by my PlayStation," Parker grinned sheepishly, lifting his head to look at Jumin.
"For the whole week?" Parker's grin only grew bigger. "Wow."
"But that's why I called you," he grinned. "I did expect to get your notebooks to copy your homework since I don't sleep in class like Kyung and I'm also one of the best in class."
"I thought that it'd be a good idea to help you," Jumin muttered. "And someone has to keep an eye on you."
"I'm not a kid!"
"You do act like one," Jumin replied, ignoring Parker's hurt expression. "Do you want anything else to drink?"
"Another hot chocolate, please. Extra whip cream."
"Alright."
Parker watched Jumin going to the counter while he put his head back on his books. "Why would he do so much work just to help me with this? It's useless. I know for a fact that he wouldn't do something like this for Miracle, so why me?" He wondered. Jumin glanced back at Parker and couldn't resist smiling when he saw him watching him. Parker sat straight and grinned at him. "Ah, who cares? I would've done the same for him."
"Have you made any progress?" Jumin asked as he handed Parker his cup.
"I didn't," Parker replied and took a mouthful of whipped cream, leaving some on his cheek in the process.
"Park, you have some whipped cream here," Jumin said, pointing at his own cheek.
Parker's eyebrows knitted and he went to touch his other cheek. "I don't feel anything."
Jumin sighed and grabbed a napkin with an irritated expression on his face. "How annoying," he muttered while he grabbed Parker's face to clean his cheek. He let go of it when he finished and put the napkin next to him.
"Thanks," Parker beamed. "Now, where did we left off..."
An hour passed by slowly and Parker made minimum progress with his homework.
"And there's this streamer who isn't that well known yet and I love his streams. He's so down to earth and he really is dedicated to the things that he wants to do." Parker sighed and looked down his notebook. "I wish I was more motivated with things that I care about. But I'm not that dedicated enough." He glanced at his phone. "Shit! It's almost four! We have to go!"
"Go where?" Jumin asked.
"To Miracle's!"
Less than half an hour later
"You're telling me that you haven't made your homework yet?" Miracle demanded, staring Parker down while trying not to scream in front of Min. They were sitting in Miracle's manga library. Min was reading some manga on the sofa while Parker listened to Miracle with a guilty feeling. "You and I both know that you promised Skylar that you would make it the day that we got it. He knew what was gonna happen if you didn't."
"Please, don't tell Sky," Parker begged. "He's gonna kill me if he finds out."
Miracle grabbed her notebooks and gave them to Parker. "Here."
"Thank you," Parker whispered and he began copying the homework.
Miracle glanced back at Min who was rubbing his eyes. "Min? What's wrong?"
"What?" Jumin asked and frowned at Miracle. "When did we get here?"
"Not that long ago." Miracle narrowed her eyes when she saw Jumin watching Parker. Parker didn't even notice the pair of eyes burning holes in his head and continued listening to his music. "So, how's the relationship between you two? Are you two already together?"
Jumin covered her mouth and glanced back at Parker, but he was too busy to notice. Jumin let his tense shoulders drop and glared at Miracle. "Don't say that shit in front of him," he whispered harshly.
"The fool doesn't even hear us!" Miracle shouted. Jumin's eyes widened and he whipped his head towards Parker. He exhaled deeply when he saw Parker bobbing his head to the music. "See? Now, are you two together or not?"
"No," Jumin replied. "And I don't think that we'll ever be."
She raised her eyebrow and glanced at Parker. "I highly doubt that," she thought. "When are you two supposed to go to comic-con?"
"Next... week? I think?" Jumin shrugged. "I'm not sure. You have to ask Parker about those things."
"I'm finally done!" Parker cheered as he stretched his arms. "What were you two talking about?"
"Comic-con. When are you two going?" She asked.
"In two weeks," he replied, putting his books in his backpack. "I'm so ready to spend all my money."
"Remember me to put a limit on how much Min can spend," Jumin said to Parker.
Parker gave him a thumbs-up as he grabbed his phone. He started up a game and they looked at him tapping it rapidly.
"What are you playing, Parker?" Jumin asked. "Don't you have more homework to do?"
"Persona 3," he replied. "And I've copied everything already."
Miracle walked up to him and turned to his phone. "Wait, he's really playing it! But how?"
"PSP emulator," he answered. "After I finished Royals for the third time a few days ago, I really wanted to play the other games and I found a YouTube video explaining how I could play this game on my phone."
"Did you only stay inside the whole week?" Miracle snorted. "That wouldn't be anything new."
"I did. Today is the first time that I left the house."
"Are you telling me that that one time that you declined my offer to go out, you were inside the whole day?" Parker nodded as he glanced at Jumin.
"Sorry," Parker mumbled, his eyes were filled with regret. "But I didn't want you to see me with my beard."
Miracle and Jumin glanced at each other and turned their attention back to Parker. "Beard?" They both asked.
Parker saved his game and turned his phone off. "I have to shave every two or three days. If I don't, I'm screwed."
"Why? I really want to see you now with a beard."
"I don't want to get hit on by older women who think I'm an adult," Parker complained. "It's gotten worse these past weeks. Like, I'm not interested, so leave me alone!"
"Huh." Miracle rubbed her chin as she looked Parker from head to toe. "I can understand where they're coming from. If you look past your hobbies and such, you do look like a pretty boy."
"What do you mean "look past your hobbies"?" Parker demanded.
Miracle raised her hands out of defense. "I spoke through the point of view of normal women," she replied, air quoting the word "normal". "But what do you think, Jumin?"
Parker looked at Jumin, his eyes shining with hope. "I think your fine just the way you are." Jumin tried to maintain his poker face when he saw Parker turned to Miracle with a proud expression on his face.
"That's why his opinion is the only one which matters," Parker grinned.
Jumin used his hand to cover his eyes, trying to fight the urge not to look Parker in the eyes. "Park," Jumin called after he cleared his throat. "The game that you're playing, what's it about?"
Parker's face brightened and he sat next to Jumin to talk about it. Miracle turned to her bookcases and grabbed a manga from a shelf. While Parker let Jumin play the game on his phone, Miracle slid the manga in Jumin's backpack.
"He's gonna kill me," she thought.
