Oh gosh!!! I did not expect this at all! Poor Sam. Not only was the decision hard to make, but it seems to have been the wrong one and he is struggling. And on top of that his father's illness. I really like his observation about growing up - how we start to see the fragility, weakness and defeat of the adults who always seemed so in control. Powerful chapter indeed!
