The fight was spectacular.
Many would believe that Sofia would lose because she's in attire that is suited for a night out on the town or to that of a formal event. That's where you'd be wrong. She perfectly dodging any or all attacks aimed at her dress or her heels. Only to be rewarded with a hard punch to the face and heels in the chest. She didn't need a sword to kick ass and she proved it to all the snot-nosed brats witnessing the 'sparing' session.
It ended with Sofia holding Avian's own sword to his throat. "Just because my attire is not conventional. Doesn't mean I can't kick your ass." She says coolly as she holds back laughter.
Lilliana and Nierion pay incredibly close attention to the dual while the other students are practically starstruck of what just happened. The two teachers look to the class, "Anyone care to tell us where Avian went wrong?" Sofia asked.
Cue. PANIC.
They were too awestruck and distracted by the fight that they wouldn't see the techniques, spells and strategies used. Lilliana comes to clutch and begins throwing her voice around, "He showed his hand too early. His overconfidence and hubris prompted him to underestimate his opponent. He pulled punches when he really should've been analyzing his opponent, especially that of a trained warrior and survivalist." she said and her voice had taken on the vocal range and perfect mimicry of the voices to that of the other students that were murmuring in a panic, she knows the voices of Azura and Mintia so they stated what was whispered into her ears, Sound Chameleon, Mintia thought as Lilliana speaks calmly and in the dialect and language of the other students that were murmuring and feeding information to the others.
"Correct." Avian cheers as he gets up from the ground and pushing his own blade away, he quietly mutters, 'ow' as he gets up
Sofia looks at her pupil with a tilted head and a knowing look on her face; the paladin's blade still in her hands, "Lilliana. I know it's hard, but please don't save them. They need to learn somehow," Sofia says getting the attention of the other students as she puts on the air of innocence,
"I have no idea what you're talking about dear teacher. I was recovering my voice." the teen says wispily playing up her vocal shutdown recovery with both hands pressed together
"Do you really think I don't know Sound Chameleon? I taught you how to do that. Though the execution is perfect and fooled me for a second."
Lilliana gives a smug grin as she knows that's she's caught. The innocence gone and replaced with a more wicked appearance. No longer bothering to hide her tricks and deception anymore. "But why? How else will they learn how to be kind to others just to be kind?" Lilliana replies. Her voice emitting nothing but pure innocence. Although it's clear to her mentor that she's anything but. Sofia groans in annoyance, "it wouldn't kill you to take the compliment every once in a while." she complains
A dark look takes over her eyes. "I'll do that when it's genuine." The teen answers her voice still holding innocence, but it also holds an iciness that shocked her fellow students, who remained quiet.
Avian applauded the class about their answers and of Lilliana's perfect execution of deception and covert information sharing as he finally regains his composure as the class couldn't help but pay attention between the two women. He undoubtedly shed some tears as he had done a bit of magic upon his person as his clothing seemed to become cleaned and pressed. He looked at the class with composure.
"I'm glad that you had agreed to come to my class today." Avian says with more believable chipperness.
"Can't exactly keep rejecting them anymore." Sofia admits bitterly as she sits on a burning gold and fiery red gemstone like stool.
The professor began resumed class and Lilliana continued taking notes as he continued with the lesson that he silently nurses his wounds and Sofia gives some explanations and strategies about certain swords. Sofia leaves with a nonchalant wave as she is no longer needed.
The paladin continues on with the lesson, making jokes that made multiple students laugh and made the lessons actually engaging. Telling the students stories about said weapons or the history about said combat style and weapon. Picking students at random, didn't matter if you avoided eye contact or not, you will be called and be asked about the weapons that they, the students, personally prefer to use. Lilliana didn't speak anymore as her mentor, the only one she is comfortable speaking with has gone and Nierion had happily taken on the role of her voice once again whenever Professor Avian asked her a question. It throws him off every time that her partner answers for her as he knows she is not mute. Deafness can be treated but it's incredibly difficult. It's up to the person if they wish to speak or use their own alternatives. If nonverbal, the school will accommodate as it can (and has) gotten ugly if ignored or outright dismissed. But it doesn't mean it won't throw them off or surprise them as everyone is different and forcing growing adolescence with powerful abilities into one mold never ends well. So the teachers have no other choices but to adapt. Somewhat, at least. Lilliana is by far the most troublesome as they don't know what she has learned during her time in the Eden House nor were they willing to keep tabs on said House when she had first arrived there.
They are completely blind about what goes on at The Eden House as they don't have any files upon it. They didn't ask Sofia for a connection window in order to know what goes on there. From culture and lesson structure to the day to day routines. Nor a Archive Chest, to record everything and to keep everything in check and to play back to them when they need the information.
Now. They are very much regretting their arrogance.
Immensely regretting their arrogance.
At the end of class. Lilliana just remained quiet and only participated when necessary, when she had to speak her hybrid partner became her voice. The other students did not understand why she allowed the hybrid become her voice even though they know she can speak. The teacher learned almost nothing about the girl herself while in his class. Not only is this girl prepped for whatever this man can throw at her, she can dish it back at him and he'll go back to the other teachers empty handed.
This is going to be far harder than I thought, The paladin thought as he dismisses the class and they all rush out, the Eden girl nigh floating out of the classroom. Her hybrid remaining on her person. Far harder, he thought as he say back down at his desk as his next class comes in. He greets his new class with a smile. Hopefully Elvian will be able to crack that diamond armor of hers, he thought as he continued through with his new class.
As the girl walks, her hybrid being held firmly in her arms. Many other students try to trip her as she fluidly glides through the hall without bumping or running into any of the other students. Some of the other students try to trip her up only for her to maneuver around it with absolute ease as she had expected this. Some students throw things at her but the projectiles never hit their intended target as she dodged the students and flying projectiles.
When she approaches the next class. She jumps out of the way of a large ball of energy that she can't easily evade. She lands gracefully on the ground as the ball splats into slime, landing on all the other students. The door is a large and incredibly heavy black steel. The half-elf professor has opened the door swinging it inward, he sees all of the slime upon the shrieking students. He looks at the slimed students and at the redheaded girl, he just sighs and snaps his fingers; cleaning the slime off the students and any or all surface it had splattered. "If you lot are done trying to get your high off of the new student, come in," he growls to the other students. The students immediately felt a sense of dread and shame as they stop trying to humiliate Lilliana.
They all then file in one by one.
They stand in the center of the room on a glowing circle on the floor. Each student has an orb of some sorts and they fly off to the seats in question and light a candle, in the color, scent and sound that only they can differentiate. "Which one is yours Lilliana?" asked Nierion through the darkness. Lilliana just stroked his fur and wings as he lays there in her arms, a smirk landing on her face as the professor goes to the front. The board and his potion set up appearing before everyone. The prep being fluid and everyone quietly taking their seats. Lilliana followed the violet flame The other students have either colored flames or the scent and sound guided them to their seat. She went to the corner of the room where the violet flame opened a door where the torches lit by the violet flame, illuminating the stairs, "Before you lot say anything." the professor says as they see the stairs illuminated before the girl. Everyone else has already found their seat if not already sat down and their candle stand upon their seat illuminating their to the class. "it's not me that chooses your seat. It's correspondence to your dormitories" he explains his voice booming throughout the room as the girl climbs the stairs. Which is true as Azura has been levitated to a suspended area filled with shelves, a grand table with a smaller cauldron upon her table with a grand table with matching chair (it can both roll and fly). All made of marble with silver, metal and gold. Finishing it up with crystal glass and multiple candles and light fixtures. Apparently all classrooms in Mix are built to accommodate the unit of said class as well as the means of class, Lilliana thought as she followed the violet flame, as it is strange that everyone else has a orb to follow while she has a flame. But it shouldn't be surprising, after all Azura was flung up to her station, Mintia was guided by bioluminescent mint plants, some has even been guided by birds. The books that are needed for the curriculum that the students themselves couldn't get, would be provided by the teacher. Potions are one of those classes that has thousand upon thousands of books for any kind of potion. there would be fifty different formulas for the same type of potion, think of it like cookies or cooking. Everyone has their own recipe for the same kind of dish. It's the same with potions. Elvian had made it a requirement for them not to get any books for his class as he would provide them. Elvian is one of the few teachers that would go such lengths for his students.
The books would be stacked upon their desks.
Lilliana gets to the top of the stairs, two lanterns have lit with the purple flames on either side on a heavy duty wooden and metal door. The handle is that of a beautiful copper. There're multiple kinds of metal, but there's an abundance of copper, runes are carved onto the oval shaped door with swirl designs upon it. There're also gemstones and crystals embedded into certain parts of the door. The shining copper handle is smooth with a cloud white steel topper and it wraps all the way back to the door itself, acting as an indicator that the door is either open or locked. She opens the door and what laid before her...is something glorious. It's fit for royalty. The lightning is all shades of purple with bits of pink and white. While Azura has a combined workstation to separate her books with the supplies needed for potions, Lilliana has two separate tables. One dedicated to potion making with bookstand and one grandiose desk filled with everything she would need for the class with a chair made of luxurious materials and is a hybrid of a throne, an egg, a full moon and a paw of sorts. All fading and changing different shades of pink and purple. She set Nierion down, "You got the best deal." he says as he goes to one of the lotus shaped pillows, ready for class to start, "but the cost isn't ideal." the girl answered quietly as she entered the room, the door closing shut behind her, locking immediately. The wall facing the classroom, opened up to a theatre like window. She can see them but they won't be able to see her.
"Privacy is king." Nierion says as Lilliana chuckles. She digs through her backpack; pulls out the sandwich, hash brown and the thermos filled with the smoothie.
Class Begins.
