The not-so-complete family tree of the rubies. In this royal family, each child must be named after a jewel. Crystal was chosen from other women to be King Eilat's bride, she was mainly pick because of her name.
The reason Ray's first name is not a gem name is because when he was born, his father was preparing to tell the towns people the birth of the new prince. The time come to make his birth certificate, Crystal wrote the down the name that she always wanted to named her first son.
