"Hey Zoey, look! It's Matthew and his friends!"
"For the love of God Emy, will you drop it? Matt and his buddies are like a 12 and we're like a 3. Matt himself we'll never notice you. Wake up girl, at least we're not that bad as to go negative like Alicia and Amy."
"Oh please, let me be. I wanna be dreamy with Matt. I've already planned our future together! Even if our present doesn't exist."
"Whatever you say girl. Whatever you say."
Emily and Zoey both went back to their respective classrooms, and with an unexpected turn of events, while going up the stairs Matthew and his friends were behind them too. Others were attempting to get past them and when Emily willingly did so, Matthew looked at her and gave her a smile, something that said "thanks!"
Emily shrieked out of joy.
"Zoey!! Did you see that? Did you see that?! Oh my God I could literally die right now!"
"Get a grip girl we're almost in front of our classroom and we're like what? 3 minutes late? God hurry up, will you?!"
"Can't you be like, supportive sometimes?"
"Supportive my ass. All I want to hear right now is the announcement of summer break and the end of another lousy term. Come on!"
A few steps away from their room and they finally made it, causing quite attention to themselves after opening the door.
"Miss Gibbins. Miss Anderson. Are you aware that the bell rang 5 minutes ago?"
"Sorry Miss Williams. We just went to the restroom for a while."
"Very well then, go on and take your seats."
Miss Williams looked at the class and continued speaking.
"Once again, as you all know, this is the last day of our term for this academic year and I expect you lot to be more focused and goal oriented on your next term. Your next term for next school year will be tough, for it is a year away from being a senior but you have to have a specific major in mind for college. Remember, in college, the fun decreases and the seriousness in life happens. Think deep and clear, feel from the bottom of your heart, what your heart desires—"
"That would be Matthew for me, Zoey."
"For once, shut your blabbering mouth about Matthew all the time. You can't even confess your damn feelings for him."
"Hem, hem" Miss Williams once again turned up to the two of them, looked sternly at them for a while and continued her speech.
"As I was saying, truly know what your heart desires. Because if you don't love what you're doing, you will end up hating the rest of your life for not doing a very good decision upon this matter. Do not be afraid to fail, for failures are steps to success. That would be all, class dismissed. Have a meaningful summer everyone. Enjoy!"
"At last! Summer break, finally!"
"Really, Zoey? You have to be that loud for it? Ugh summer's always a bummer for me. That means no Matthew for two months! Whole two months, Zoey!"
"Oh stop being a whiny, Emy. Haven't you heard? We'll have Matthew and one of his friend, I think Jordan is his name, as our classmate next school year."
"WHAT?!"
"Yep."
"But—but how? I mean, Matthew belongs in the advanced class after all!"
"Except that he flunked this year and now he belongs to our class, a mediocre one."
Emily couldn't express her joy and excitement even more. Even if she will not be seeing Matthew during summer break, there's a whole school year for them to get to know each other and be friends at the very least...or so she thinks.
