I’m Kairi Bucks, 20-years-old, first year University student. Everyone calls me Kai, but my “family” calls me Riri even though it’s a little embarrassing it doesn’t bother me anymore. I have long blonde hair down to the small of my back, one sapphire blue eye and one emerald green eye, 5 ft 6 in tall and 140lbs, and I’m a humble little rich kid. My dad, Carter Bucks, is an ex mafia lord. He retired from the underground world, earned an honest living, and is now chairman and CEO of a company he built from the ground up. My dad raised me to understand that even though I have everything, there could be a time in my life when I’m left with absolutely nothing.
He raised me from a young age since my mother ran out on us. Something about not being able to handle being the wife of a gangster didn’t sit right with her, but oh well who needs someone who could just up and abandon her family.
So, all my life I have never known my mother and have no interest. I didn’t need a female role model in my life because I have always been surrounded by dads’ closest men. They’ve always looked out for me and taught me everything I needed to know to defend myself.
Best guys ever!
I’m an only child which was lonely all the way up until I was five, when dads right hand man, Uncle Jason, came back to the states from expanding the company abroad with my best friend, Jasper but I call him Jas. Jasper is two years older than me nearly 6 ft 3 in tall 195 lbs. of pure muscle, a lot of girls find him very attractive with his natural silver hair and deep blue eyes, but I’m the one who’s always been by his side. So, everyone calls us a couple.
Jas and I have always been close and never gotten into an argument over anything that didn’t last longer than two days. That is, until He came.
Jas and I attend the same University with the same majors so we can run my dads’ company together, even though we only have a couple classes together since he’s a third year.
I’ve always been extremely focused on my studies. Never dated or had any interest in anybody that wasn’t family to me, so I’m still amazed that he caught my attention.
I was running late to class, taking a short cut through the engineering building, running as fast as I could, running right into Him and spilling his drink all over the both of us.
Stupid. I should’ve just apologized to him and kept going, never looking back. Maybe then, this would’ve never happened.
“What the hell, you fucking barbarian?!” he snapped at me with annoyance in his voice.
“Ouch! Shit! I’m running late, mo—ove?” I stopped and at that moment I saw him.
Hair darker than the night sky if it wasn’t invaded by the stars, cut into the perfect fade even though he had it slicked back perfectly like he was some business tycoon, bright gold eyes with an extremely dark ring around the iris that just made the gold jump out, a stern face. skin perfectly tan and not a single fault. He was definitely as tall as Jas, and from what I could tell he had a similar build too. Broad shoulders, slim waist, and by how bad it hurt to run into him I could tell he was fit and toned.
Then, I noticed the worst detail of all, he was covered in coffee! Thank God it was iced but still embarrassing.
“Move? You run into me like some serial killer is chasing you, spill my coffee all over me, and have the audacity to tell me to move?! Just where do you get off?!” He sounded more annoyed than angry.
“Ah shit, I’m sorry I’m running late to class and I—”
He cut me off, what a rude person.
“Not my problem. Manage your time better and you wouldn’t have to trample on top of people to get from point A to point B.” What a stern temper he has.
I’m annoyed at this point,
“This is my first time being late to anything in my life! Get off my back! I said I’m sorry so I’m—”
Why does he keep cutting me off?
“If you really want to apologize replace my coffee sometime and stop running through the buildings like you own them or something, you can find me in this building.”
He said with a voice as smooth as silk and a confident grin on his face. Complete 180 from a few seconds ago.
“Bye Little Miss Barbarian.”
I’m pissed now.
“I’m not a barbarian and I have a name! I don’t give a damn about replacing your coffee!”
He walked away with a smirk on his face before I could even protest.
“Shit! I’m late!”
I ran to class and snuck in to sit next to one of my classmates.
