"Here, drink that" Alej handed her a mug "What...is that?" Elaine asked skeptically while sitting up "Don't worry, it's just something for your fever. I understand that you can't fully trust us yet, but when you arrived here you where at the brink of death. If I wanted to harm you I wouldn't have put so much work into keeping you alive" he said with a smile. Elaine took the mug. She was still a bit skeptical, but....he had a point. She took a large sip, the hot water warmed her up from the inside "It...it tastes amazing" She said and her face lit up "What is that?" "It's a tea made of herbs. Some thyme, whitewhistle, lime blossom and some death strand. Herbs have been used for their healing properties long before humans discovered magic" Alej explained "but if you actually combine both it's pretty effective" he chuckled "So you are a sorcerer then?" Elaine asked before emptying her mug. Alej chuckled and shrugged
"You could say that, but I wouldn't call myself one. All I'm doing is using magic to enhance their natural capabilities. I simply bring forth what is already there. Aside from that I only know some very simple magic, nothing that would impress an elf like you" Elaine laughed "Yeah right, I'm an elf so naturally I must be some kind of magical prodigy to you humans...." "I...I'm sorry...I didn't want to..." "It's fine" Elaine said "You saved my life after all, so I guess I can forgive you a little mistake" she chuckled and continued "Now tell me a little about yourself. You don't seem like ordinary travelers" Alej shrugged it off "Well, it's still a long way to the next city and I guess you probably don't want to stay in the middle if nowhere, so why don't we get the carriage going and use the time on the way?"
It didn't take long to grab all the things and soon the only evidence left of their camp was the smoking fireplace.
A little down the road Alej looked over to Elaine "So, guests first?" Elaine sighed "Well, I guess it was my idea after all" Asmira was leaning against Alejs shoulders, snoring quietly. Alej grabbed a blanket and cloaked her in it. "Ready when you are" he said with a chuckle, his half burned face smiling at the elf, before grabbing in a little bag to his feet, pulling out a bit of bread and breaking it in half, handing one to Elaine while taking a bite of the other himself. Elaine took the bread, took a bite and after swallowing she started "Alright...so..How much do you know about Elves?"
