Pulling out her phone and going to her pictures to pull up the map of the first floor, she heard the noise coming from her right and searches what would be in her right, but on the map, the only rooms are either storage and one labeled as "employees only" which piqued her curiosity. but seeing the other rooms are storage, it might have been a box that finally fallen over all this time. She sneaks out of the incaved hallway and moves to the storage rooms, while also dimming her flashlight.
going through the several storage rooms, she finds nothing that could have made that loud thump. With those out of the way, she goes to the last room, the one labeled only for staff. But to her surprise, it was empty. other than the crude graffiti on the walls, there was nothing in it. The room itself was incredibly small, and Jessie wondered what would have been the use until she looked at a corner in the room. On the ground, there was a large tile that was moved out of the floor and Jessie goes to it and looks. Shining her light down the hole where the tile would have fitted over, It leads down to deep chasm that had a dirt floor. She wiggled the light around to see anything of interest but it's just a deep hole and it seemed like something the hospital clearly knew about but wanted it to be hidden. Jessie did see a metal ladder that was at the bottom, though what the purpose of the hole couldn't come to her mind.
"More storage?" She thought, but then why not just keep it above ground?
Still not finding really what the source, Jessie shrugs it off and continues on. She pulls her map off her phone, and before she goes upstairs she just wanted to check on the doors to see if maybe the could be opened from the inside. She makes her way to the main entrance of the building, and the main doors are also nailed shut on the inside too. Checking her phone one more time, there are three more entrances she could try out. Going around more she also finds out there just as locked as well. Sighing to herself, a little worried that she might be stuck here. But that also means more time to explore she humored herself.

Back upstairs, while very tempted to go and see the inside of the operations room, She wants to save that for last for this floor. The second floor also houses a lot of patient rooms, Jessie guesses that's there have to be some fascinating possessions that have been left behind. She goes to the main hall, which looked more like a prison cell block than a hospital on how the rooms where arranged. Flashing her light around, she starts off with the first room on the right, going in into it and seeing it in the remains of what it was. Looking through several more, Jessie could tell these were not made with comfort in mind. The rooms were small and felt like they would have been miserable to rest in. Most of the rooms were a mess with they stained crusty beds tossed over and stripped down medical equipment toppled over. Most of which had nothing that Jessie was looking, mainly cluttered with trash. But when she got to the sixth one she found a note that reads
"They ain't tell'in the truth. Careful what comes in" was hastily written on a ripped piece of yellowed paper in big letters. Jessie read it several times wondering what it could mean.
Jessie puts it down and goes to the next room, and sees that it is different than the other rooms. This one has seemed like it had a more recent occupant. Shining her light around she sees that there is a makeshift bed, opened cans of food, and mason jars. Jessie goes into the room and investigates, looking at the sleeping bag it's flat so no need to worry about someone sleeping. She sees a lot of note pads that been strewn about, she picks one up and flips through its pages and they all either have obscene nonsense or mad scribbles of something that could have come out of a crazy man. Near the bed, lies a bunch of needles scattered around. Jessie glad she has her sturdy boots on so they can't poke her, and shining her light on the jar reveals that it's murky golden content is piss inside. Jessie leaves the room and little on edge, worried that thier might be a drug fiend running around.
She leaves the room and checks out the next few rooms, and nothing too exciting was in them as well with others being locked. after briefly checking every room, she decided it's time to check out the operation room. Though as she walked towards where the room was, following the guidelines of the map of her phone she thought she heard footsteps. She stops and listens, thinking she faintly hears them in the distance. She shines her light around and finds nothing, though kinda cursing at herself to be waving her light around. But listens again and the entire place is deathly quiet.
"Ok, just calm down..." Jessie whispers to herself, thinking maybe she's on edge.
Checking the coast is clear she continues onward to the operations room. She opens the door in excitement to see what kinds of interesting stuff she will find inside. going through the door she sees a long hallway of ten surgery tables lining up the walls. Each surgery table had a station with a computer and a smaller table with tools, and a large lamp along with a computer with several monitors for each station. Though now it's in total disarray with tables flipped over, computers smashed, trash and papers litter the floor, and what seems to be blood stains are on one table along with the tools for it. Jessie walked over to that one and looked over it, and sees the blood isn't that old but not quite recent either.
It didn't look like someone tried to use the tools to kill, maybe a bum had to do some makeshift surgery she assumed. Jessie cringed at the idea of having to have surgery done with antique tools that were lying around in a dingy decrepit building. She goes over to the other tables and looks around to see if anything is interesting. When she gets to the last operating table, she sees a big binder labeled at Notes. Interested she picks up the dusty book and looks through it, skimming through. Most of it was notes on several of the patients that were housed over the years and personal opinions of the writer. Though one page did interest her. Going through it she reads.
"The new lab below has been finished, so if you find any worthy subjects make sure you send them there for further experimentations. Code for the door is 7849, don't forget it." an old printed out email had written on it.
"Experimentations hmmm?" Jessie scratched her chin.
She takes a picture of the code and saves it for later. Leaving the operation room she goes to the upper floor. She climbs the stairs and then stops dead in her tracks.
She can hear voices coming somewhere in the darkness ahead.
They're faint, she wonders if it could be ghosts? plenty of people died here so it wouldn't surprise her if this is something paranormal. She climbs up slowly, and dims her light and pulls out her knife just in case if it's a threat more real. now on the third floor, she ignores all the room and interesting stuff and follows to the voices. The sounds are coming from a room with the door closed and she leans up against and puts her ear to the wall to listen closely. She can see lights coming from the space below the door. She can't quite make it out but it certainly sounds like there are two guys. And these guys sounded like they aren't messing around, while she had no idea what they looked like she could imagine being huge men. She did hear them mention something about drugs, money, and she pieced it together that this is a drug deal going on.
Jessie's heart starts pounding, now knowing she isn't alone and it's with some dangerous people. It's not crazed druggies, but drug dealers who probably could do far worse. Jessie mind races with a plan but remembers that all the entrances are locked which also raises how the hell they got in. Maybe she can try to break a window open or even jump out of the one she came in if she's desperate enough. Now she needs to get away, going down to the first floor.
She takes a step back. Whoever is talking on the other side is still talking as if she was never there.
CREAK
And now the entire building fell silent...
