Running at each other blindly would do me no good.
The wolf creature is relying on presumably instinct alone. So there’s that advantage of his.
Instead of wildly entering its mouth area I dash to its side. Where it is more vulnerable.
It would depend on who had the most speed.
Obviously the wolf was quicker than me…
I can only jump to evade his strikes.
However as I do that his teeth would just barely graze my skin.
Taking the opportunity I spin myself to do some damage to him.
Alas the spin slash would only be slightly effective.
It isn’t deep but it’s better than nothing. Thanks to this cold weather his fur is more silky. Making my sword barely contacting his body.
This will be a longer fight than I thought…
Putting out my hand I slide off the snowy trails, allowing me to recover from the action.
The wolf however has fast reactions. It was already coming at me.
Looking at the sides I can jump to them, giving me distance from the wolf creature.
The terrain was solid enough to step on, allowing me to ascend to the top.
Of Course the wolf could also do the same. Not surprised at all.
Jumping to the top I await to counter attack him by slashing at his legs.
As it came to the top it was high in the sky.
Perfect I can cut his legs.
Stabbing it’s hind leg he gave a loud whimper.
Excellent. I just need to do the same for the other legs.
Going for the second leg I didn’t anticipate him to use his powerful roar.
“Ahh Whoo” as it howled he blew me back to the ground.
Impacting my body back to the ground.
Smack*
“Aghh” crap that hurts. It would seem he realized what my main objective was.
While I was too busy recovering from the fall, the wolf was already behind me.
It almost bit my head off but instead it clawed me with one of its paws. Causing me to have a slash to my cheeks.
The attack was so blunt and strong to the point where my head can’t think straight.
I can only feel static shocks coming from my brain.
Not to mention breathing was difficult thanks to that attack.
The wolf must’ve realized that I was easy prey. It was almost as if he was toying with me. If it wanted me dead he would’ve done so from the start.
With my back against the wall. I make a last stand, pointing my sword at the wolf. I frustratingly swing my sword at him.
It came at me slowly, it must be savoring my demise before it goes for the final blow. What a sick bastard.
All seemed hopeless for a moment. It seemed like I lived a short life for no reason. I’m sorry Selyne I couldn’t live up to your expectations…
As it just crept at me slowly, from the top came crashing down one surviving ink clone.
They came rushing in stabbing at the wolf’s back.
A big cry was heard.
It kept struggling to get the clone off of him.
Finally recovering from the head trauma I quickly drew five more ink clones.
While one clone was on the back distracting it, the rest attacked its legs.
I went for the eyes to disrupt his vision.
One of the clones drew up a cloth and the rest muzzled the wolf’s mouth.
With the teamwork of my clones we attack simultaneously.
Stabbing at it. Slashing at the softest part which is the under belly. To finally end this we all infused our blades with fire and stabbed through the head of the wolf.
Burning through the head caused the Wolf extreme agony of pain. After it struggled for a few seconds, he stopped moving altogether. I can assume his brain receptors melted off.
Uwah~ I was almost a goner. Thanks to my ink clone I lived yet again.
Suddenly ink cells started to envelope on the wolf creature's body.
Looking behind me, I see that the wolf is starting to change form. I cant tell whats going on, but looking at the overshadowing of it figure. They seem to be getting bulkier and bulkier.
This is bad...very bad. I need to end this as soon as I can. Rushing quickly to the transformation. I tried slashing it, but my sword just wouldn't make contact. The ink cells layering on the wolf creature are preventing me from doing any damage to it.
Crap crap crap! I need to end this! My guts are telling me that If I don't end it now, I won't make it back alive.
Furiously swinging my sword at the transformation sequence out of desperation was the only thing I could think of.
My ink clones came to help me out as well. It seems they know this sequence of events are not boding well for them, too.
After a while of attempting to slash at the transforming wolf my clones pulled me back away.
I don't know what's going to happen, but as soon as I was pulled away a hand stretched out on one of the clones.
Crap did the transformation complete? What kind of transformation occurred while it was enveloped?
Once the transformation sequence completed the ink cells dispersed on the wolf creature. As the clone got struck by the hand it penetrated through the clone's body. Then the transformed wolf spun rapidly, lethally damaging the surrounding ink clones. I finally got a better image of the results of the transformation.
Its body became like that of a human. Its claws although the same as it was as a wolf, became hands instead of paws. Its legs went from quadrupedalism into a standing upright bipedal position. Its chest widened yet it still preferred to hunch back.
What was interesting was when the wolf face didn't have a human face. Instead it seemed like the wolf became a wolf man hybrid.
Shockingly the wolf man stared at one of my clones. Grabbing one of the swords, it examined it.
Next thing I know the sword morphs into a saber.
What the hell? I-is he mimicking me?
Pointing his sword at me, he positioned himself at me.
I needed to run away, but yet I felt like it would be a waste of time. Instead of running. I confronted him.
I was still tired from doing all of those actions against his pre-transformation form.
When the wolf man finally made his move, he disappeared in the blink of an eye.
Gripping my sword I draw as many ink clones as I can with as much time as I can.
I needed the clones to watch my blind sides. He can be coming from any direction.
Where will he appear? All I am hearing are sonic waves in the air. The molecules from the snow must be causing the noise.
It doesn't help when he is constantly moving around preventing me from having vision of him.
This wolf man is obviously clever, he isn't like the rest of the mindless beasts that I have encountered so far. Especially unlike before it’s transformation.
One of my clones strikes in the air. It seems that we indeed can see him. That is reassuring at least.
Looking in all directions, I can see after images of his movement. Each time he is moving he is leaving last minute traces of himself.
Think. What can I do to see him? Think…
After sometime instead of seeing him, I thought of relying on my ears to hear the direction he's coming from. My clones are keeping an eye on him, so I am able to test that theory.
Closing my eyes, I concentrated on listening for any of his movements.
Pew~ pew~ pew~ Pew~ he's coming, from the right.
“East!” my clone strikes to their direction.
There! His after image is still residua-ting. Yes, I knew it. The sonic waves I am hearing can be used to locate his whereabouts.
Only problem is dealing damage to him.
When I closed my eyes again this time I heard no more of the sound waves it was making. Opening my eyes I saw that he was coming from the air. Crap I need to deflect his attack in time.
Luckily my ink clones all struck their swords at my direction.
They were all struggling from his massive strength as the saber struck from the air.
It made it worse when the wolfman massacred one of the clones with its wolfman feet.
I needed to do something quick, so I instead kicked him off to prevent the clones from their deaths.
It gave a gleeful smile at me, it was extremely unpleasant to look at. Without taking a stance, he disappeared again. This time moving extremely faster than it was before.
He moved in a thundering fashion. Luckily I had vision on him, so I was able to keep up with where he was.
Moving to his direction we both struck at each other.
Ting* tang* Feeling the brute strength of his blows, I can feel the unsettling vibrations coming from my weapon.
Feeling the sting of his attack, slowed my movement down. Taking the opportunity he took a bite at my neck.
However, I was quick enough to stop that from happening. I kicked his stomach area. Momentarily putting us at a distance.
“Ow, ow ow ow” Geezes his abs are tough as hell. My foot was almost cracked from that kick I did. Luckily it was only bruised.
Looking back at it, why is he more muscular than me, that's not fair!
Walking towards me, his glee became menacing if that didn't come across me already.
Throwing his saber at me, I deflect the attack with my sword. Shoot I fell for the trap! He's already face to face with me.
He began kicking me furiously on the stomach.
“UAGHH!” urk, my stomach. He really is mimicking me… what do I do?
Blood started spewing through my mouth making me have difficulty in breathing.
Looks like he wants to go for a fist fight now. He began kicking my sword away from me.
I desperately try to recover the sword, to no avail I could not reach it.
Having no more options, I decided that my final options are to fight him head on.
Holding out my fists, the wolf man was filled with more glee when I accepted his challenge.
We began circling around each other. He wanted me to strike first to show his dominance.
I screamed at him and began putting my all into my final punch. Making contact with his chest with my fists, it didn't work. His body was just too tough, I couldn't hurt him at all.
Distraught he became satisfied with my looks. In turn he punched me all the way across from him.
“Ack!” It hurts.
I think he's intending to end my life now… The wolf man then crept closer to me. While I just kept wailing about with my legs.
Actually before he attacked me he was making a charge at me. As it charged at me the wolfman leapt into the air going for a deadly blow.
I kept kicking in the air desperately for my life. I kicked so much to the point where for some reason the wolf man had not ended my life yet.
Coming to realization, the wolf man became in excruciating pain. Holding in between his lower legs with both his hands, he kept screaming and whimpering in pain.
Wait… did I… did I just kick the wolf man in the groin?!?!
Getting back up, I yell out. “Yeah, you like that?!! There's more where that came from!”
I spat on him.
Coming back to focus I quickly grab my sword and slay the wolf man into pieces.
I won’t say I am proud of it, but…
I'm proud of it!
-Recording footage transmitted through the note to Selyne-
Selyne was not amused about the final results of the battle, but was glad that her apprentice life wasn't at stake. Although still disappointed about the climactic fight.
Finally back at the base all beat up and bruised. I just rested for the entirety, while my ink clones nursed me back to health.
Today I just got my ass handed to me… I want this to all end already! (TT~TT)
