"It's goblins!" Alej shouted. Elaine grabbed her axe and jumped down from the carriage. She raised her hand and split one of the goblins head in two, while pointing her hand at another one "Zierne" the magic words burned on her tongue and a bright red flame ignited a nearby goblin. The goblin screamed as he ran around, burning like a torch. One of the goblins raised its spear and tried to impale Alej. He grabbed the spear, pulled the goblin closer, pointed his hand at his head and a bright flame incinerated the goblin. Alej jumped back, evading anothers attack. Elaine beheaded another goblin, before falling back a little, ending up standing back to back with Alej "There are so many of them" he said, breathing a little heavily already "What's up with your magic?" Elaine asked "no magic words?" "I actually heard that for the first time now, maybe humans don't need them? Anyways, I think we have a more important matter at hand" He answered with a chuckle, before storming at the goblins. He threw his sword, impaling one of the goblins head, before pulling back his hand, having the sword magically return to his hand and following with a strike to the right, cutting one goblins hand off, the sword it had raised falling down on its head. Elaine bit into her finger and used her blood to draw a little symbol on the blade of her axe, cloaking it in lightning, before rushing towards the next best goblin. She striked the first one with the back of the axe, paralizing it and with a follow up swing to the left another ones head fell to the ground. The remaining goblins became hesitant, circling around the two, growling at them "Elsia" Elaine said and a few icicles impacted on the ground in front of the goblins. The goblins jumped back at the shock, looked at each other and fled back into the woods "Whew, that went better than I expected" Elaine said "It's nice not having to deal with this alone for once" Alej responded while putting away his blade "This happens often?" "Occasionally" he said "It's a dangerous world out here" He pulled a little knife out of his pocket "Grab something sharp. A dead goblin is worth 12 gold coins around here" "You want to carry their heads around?" Elaine asked with a shocked and disgusted expression "No, their ears are enough as proof" he said, while cutting ones right ear off "only take the right ones, otherwise they will think we are trying to scam them" Elaine was still disgusted, but she did as she was told. The two of them returned to the carriage, finding Asmira still sleeping soundly "How the..." Elaine asked in disbelief "Yeah, her ability to sleep in the most ridiculous situations never fails to amaze me..." He threw the bag they collected the ears in on the seat "Would you help me with the tree?". It took a few minutes for them to burn the tree and finally continue their journey
