10 minutes later
Jim lays on the couch watching John
writing story ideas in a small hardback.
He lifts his head from the couch to view the story but has his vision blocked by the round coffee table in between them.
"Hey, John" he voiced " got any ideas for the film yet?"
"Not yet man, it's still in development."
"Alright, I'll watch TV while I wait. tell me if it's too loud."
10 minutes later
"Hey John, you got anything yet?"
"Just be patient, you'll see results."
20 minutes pass
"John, can I see your-"
"Not done!"
John quickly interrupted.
Jim glares.
"Do you have a basic idea written or anything?"
John raises a hand, making a gesture telling Jim to quiet down.
Jim: I _ I . . . Ī _ Ī
30 minutes trickle away
"I got nothing."
John flicks his pencil across the room out of boredom, it hits the floor and rolls underneath the fridge in the kitchen.
"Ah, crap."
"What do you mean you got nothing?
"It means I got nothing."
"nothing at all?"
"I have nothing written down other than scribbles and a cute doodle of my parents' dog. So I think that’s pretty nothing, by the way, What do you think of the dog?"
"John, it's been 50 minutes, and we don't have an idea for a movie or have anything to record a movie with."
"Actually we do, the camera and equipment I got, remember?"
"Oh yea I forgot about that even though you told me about that a chapter ago. How did you pay for those?"
"I paid nothing."
"How?"
"They gave everyone a camera and a stand for the competition at no cost."
"Is that the reason you needed my card?"
"No, it's just for prize money."
"How is that profitable."
"It's not"
". . . That makes no sense."
"Why are you asking about this now-"
"Amateur writing. Anyway, how will we get an idea for the movie?"
John gets up and dusts his clothes off, before walking to the door to open it "Let's find inspiration somewhere."
