[Small spoilers for "A Witches Account of the Parallels Between Deities and Magic"]
The woman kissed the top of the bottle before handing it to Evelyn. She waved her index finger in the air for a little while, each time it changed direction, it was surrounded by more and more dust-like particles before she finally aimed it towards the bottle. The bottle was surrounded by this strange dust-like material before the woman cast it out to sea.
The bottle was now headed towards the woman’s lover, who was off at sea, fighting in the war. The woman was worried about his safety.
Evelyn placed a hand on her shoulder and wrote in the air, a message of comfort and support. Goodbye is not forever, it is not the end. Although they’re difficult, and you’re not sure how long it will be until you see them again, goodbye’s are never the end, no matter how sad they might be, they just mean goodbye until I meet you again.
The woman looked at Evelyn, hugged her, and smiled. Her tears long since dried, she didn’t cry anymore and only hugged Evelyn while thanking her over and over again, “I’m so glad you came… Thank you for ensuring my message reaches him…”
Evelyn smiled, closed her eyes, and continued to console the woman, rubbing her back gently. She had no words to describe the amazing feeling she felt as she helped this woman. This was only the beginning, Evelyn was determined to help others along her journey to the Lonely Forest.
