„Nice to meet you Kai.“ The stranger, who I now know is named Al, said with such a bright smile that I felt compelled to close my eyes.

Blinking I replied „Sure“. What I realized was quite a stupid answer after I spoke it out loud. But It was already to late the Design Student burst out laughing. „I mean- I meant it is nice to meet you too“ I added embarrassed with a cracking voice since this was the longest sentence I spoke today. Chuckling Al answered: „It’s Alright, I get it I used to be socially awkward too. But probably the other way around.“ Socially awkward? This Man who literally started a conversation with a stranger because this stranger (who is me) sat on the sidewalk like a stray cat? Even if I known him for ten minutes now, It would never occur to me to use the words ‚socially awkward‘ in any way related to him.

The disbelieve must have shown on my face because as if he could read my mind Al explained: „Well that was a long time ago“. The expression he had while saying this made my heart sting because this cheerish young man dressed in colorful clothes, at least I guess it was colorful because everything on him was full of contrasts, could make such a cold and hateful expression. That made me wonder what he had to go through in the past.

However, my curiosity should remain unsatisfied (not that I would have asked anyway) because right at that moment a Girl shouted Al’s Name. A skinny girl with long hair round about twenty two came running to the both of us now, speaking excited to Al in a Language I couldn’t understand. Al replied to her with a chuckle in the same Language. I think it was German not sure though. Then he turned to me and asked something whose meaning I couldn’t understand, the whole situation began to overwhelm me, and I just stared at him like I saw an Alien.

However Al didn’t care or he just didn’t know, and snatched my phone from the side walk. Before I could realize what was going on He typed some numbers in my phone and a few seconds later his phone was ringing.

„Thats my number. I write you. It was nice to meet you Kai! I have to go now but I really enjoyed your company.“ Al said with this overwhelming smile of his he now showed me the second time. Then he left with the Girl clinging on him.

I felt a bit uncomfortable seeing him walking away with this random Girl. Not because I was Jealous, I mean I don’t even know him yet and this Girl could even be his sister or something I am not a stupid character from a shojo manga who becomes unreasonable Jealous of every person near my crush (not that I have a crush), but because I really enjoyed talking to person like a normal Human being. Being able to communicate and talk to someone who is actually listening. I didn’t realized how much I missed to socialize until I became a taste of it again. Whatever, this guy will hear from the rumors too and will just become another person in the crowd.

Another Person in another shade of gray. Even though I knew that I chuckled seeing the name the design student gave himself in my contacts.
