I stopped in my tracks, the noise making me freeze my movements. A tall muscular boy rushed past me, swarming over the injured body on the floor. I was completely caught off guard when the figure restarted its barge of attacks on the boy. A large crowd formed around the fight, students yelling fight and recording the scene with their phones.
Without a pause, the tall male continued his attacks, each hit further bruising the kid on the ground. The boy’s face slowly turning crimson from the violent, chaotic blows.
The stark violence and the tumultuous environment was making me feel nauseous. The stress was getting to my head. I couldn’t take it anymore.
“Stop fighting!” I screamed at the attacker. Everyone’s eyes turned to me, my brain was also confused by my sudden courage.
The tall male stopped his onslaught, turning to peer at me. As he turned towards me, I was able to get a better look at him. He was towering, like 6’2 or even taller. And he was completely buff. Every muscle on his body had to be chisel by the gods. His physique was almost built like a fitness trainer. His mahogany hair was styled in a faded haircut, overlaying into the tattoos that lined his neck. My eyes floated down to his arms and hands which held the same ingrained markings, evoking a dangerous element to them. The markings popped off his tan skin complimenting his dark forest-green eyes. Bloodstains coated his white shirt, gray jacket, and jeans. If he wasn’t covered in blood, I would have said he was attractive.
He ignored my weak plea and stepped back towards the injured boy.
“Hey... I said to stop it.” The brave words escaped my mouth again.
He turned away from the boy and stalked over to me. He seemed to be locking onto a new target.
“Please, just... you won ok. He isn’t even moving. Just... stop... please.” I dropped my head, preparing for the hit I just signed up for.
The crowd hushed as the steps stopped in front of me. I looked up and met his cold gaze. If looks could kill, then I definitely would be dead right now.
Fear washed over me as I watched him look me over, his intense stare studying my weakness, but he decided to turn around. The tall male strolled away, back towards the main hallway, nonchalantly ignoring the chaos in his wake.
I sighed in relief, finally letting out the air I was holding in. I slowly started to regain my normal breathing pattern.
The crowd dispersed with some of the students stop to help carry the injured boy to the infirmary. I turned around and saw Kash visibly shaken.
“Hey...are you alright?” I questioned, placing my hand on his shoulder.
He shook from the touch, turning to face me, grabbing my shoulders.
“Are you crazy? I can’t believe you just told him to stop.” Kash frantically shook me.
“Told who?,” prying his hands off, curious about the boy I just stood up too.
“That’s freakin Theo Davidson. One of the most feared guys in the school. No one ever talks back to him and lives to see another day. If they do, they are most likely missing a limb or two.” Kash cried with fear in his eyes.
Great, I just made myself a target and it’s not even the first period. What an awesome way to start the year.
