Our guide turned out to be a girl about my age and height. How do I describle our first impression of her? Bold doesn't do her justice. Stepping into the hallway we saw a girl with long hot-pink hair and purple bangs. Her uniform was quite....uquice. The left side of her skirt hand patche of bright pink farbic sewn on, while the right side was left untouched. The once white shirt was not rainbow tie-dyed. Matching rainbow and muti-color poka dot and striped tights completed the rainbow effect. Grey converes and the un-refashioned red blazer were the only neuteral colors on her. In other words, the most ridoulosu thing I've ever seen. Not even a clown would wear the rainbow mess.
Rainbow girl looked us over, sizing up the newbies. Popping her gum, she introduced herself "I'm Nika." She said in a friendly tone, before turning to walk away. "Follow me." Nika called, "I've got fifteen mintues to show you the campus. Than we gotta hustle to the coliseum."
"I'm Veil and the speechless boy next to me is Ethan. Better known as stalker-boy." What happened to the shy yet saractic Ethan I fought grogens with? His sharp wit dried up at the sight of a pretty girl. Tyical male, the only things that shuts them up is a pretty female. What's the world coming too when they act how they should?
Rolling my eyes, I grabbed Ethan by the eblow and dragged him along. Nika led up back the way Akemi had brought me earlier. Explaining the lay out of the school building as we went. At the main enterance hall, Nika took us through the double doors under the staris. We nededed up in a deserted cafetiar, with only chairs and tables to greet us. Basic school cafeiar layout; tables, chaits, and a serivce counter along one wall.
"The cafteri's small compared to the dining hals of the dorms." Nika led us through side door outside. "Those can hold about a thousand students at a time. Which is a good, since most opt to eat at the dorms instead." Outside, the quad had a brick path that lead from the building about three feet out to a central grassy area and further our. Tress shaded most o the grass, making it comeforatble to eat at the tables on nice days. From here we continued to follow the brick path for half-a-mile. The path cut throughsome trees and bracnhed off to several side paths. Nika indicacted those paths lead to other areas of the campus. In addition to the main school building and dorms, there was an indoor and outdoor pools in the sports area. Which also housed the tennis courts, baseball diamond, football field, a track field, and soccer field. Man this school is rich. They also have a sepearte gym faculty and lake deeper in the woods. Oh and this colusum, on the other side of the mouation. The school has some property there too.
Maybe going here won't be so bad after all.
The path opened back up at a fork in the road. Each path lead to one of the two caslte lke structures not to ffar away. "Olypian Dorm." She pointed to the right. "Since both of your main canadtices are gods, Olypian Dorm is where you are. All gods and goddesses are assigned there. While heroes, orcales, seers, transfer students, and anyone else not a god or goddess stays in Hero Dorm."
Nika turned right, taking us to Olypian Dorm. "Both dorms have the same basic layout." She began, "Second and third floors house boys, girls are on floors four and five. There also two wings, east and west. East has all common housing and west is reservired for fifth, sixth, seventh years, and reprstative candaictes or R.C.." The building quickly came closer, it reminded me of hose medevial European castles. Complete with two towers for Razeptel. "Floors two thru five have one bing common room that connects both wings. With more commons in each wing, bathrooms, and a small kitchen. The first floor is the centeral common area, dining hall, and dorm library. Oh, the towers and atic are off limits."
Nika waved her arm in front of the door before pushing it open. The first floor was a lounge, chairs, and tables decorated the floor. A flat screen hung on one wall in the corner, surrounded by couches an a bean bag chair. The walls were painted gold and read behind the paintings and pictures.
We had no time to look around, as Nika headed straight for the basement. Fulled with old furiture and boxes, the basement was cluttered and smlled like old cheese. Dusty windows filtered in dirty sunlight making the room appear depressing, In the corner was an old rusted metal door Nika hit something, the door creeked open ito a dark underground tunnel. Not hestiting, Nika grabbed a flashlight off the wall and desceed into the darkness.
"Well?" She said, when we didn't follow. "We're gonna be late if you don't hurry. Trust me, your not gonna wanna miss this." Contiuing forward, the flashlight's glow disappeared the further she went.
Ethan looked at me for an answer. Do we follow rainbow Nika into the unknown darkness? Wouldn't be the craziest thing I've done this week. Shrugging, I quickly followed after Nika, Ethan right behind me.
***********************************************************************************************
The tunnel was man made and branched off several times. A maze that Nika navigated effortlessly. Her flashligt was the only light source for several turns. Part way in, a series of lanterns strung up on the dirt ceiling lit the endless darkness. "Stay close." Nika instruted, as she turned yet another corner. By now, I was completely lost, everything looked the same. "It's super easy to get lost. These tunnels stretch under the whole mounation."
Ten mintues later, we came upon a stone door. The door opened when Nika pressed the pin from her shirt against it. 'Only year pins can open this door. You'll learn about the chests and pins later." The path open, Nika walked through not waiting for us.
Following, the bright light blinded us for a moment. After my eyes adjusted, I was in awe of the massive structure before us. The size of a football statium, it wa a mix of modern and anicent artutecher. Past and present had come together to form this amazing struture. Minus a few details, it was an exact replika of the Roman Colisum.
Nika smiled, "Welcome to the Colisum."
