After that they spend time together, seemingly almost like a family the three of them always longed for. A peaceful little family.
"Do you have a dream?" asked Charles out of nowhere. Ephemere got interested and went closer to them.
"Ah, I always wanted to be a writer, though It's rough because my parents wouldn't approve it and the income doesn't always come, I will never give up on it."
"That's nice" Charles then gave a wistful smile.
"What about you?"
"To live happily, peacefully with my family, though it's impossible. If it's a realistic dream then, to help the world to heal, although just a little."
Ethna then felt bad. Charles seems to live in a hard time. She regretted asking.
"Ephemere, what's your dream?" Charles asked.
For a second Ethna saw his gaze turn towards her but then quickly goes back to Charles.
"Right now, I don't have or rather not sure. My dreams used to be similar to yours" he replied. Ethna felt even worse knowing that their struggle is much heavier than her. Maybe it's to the fact they have Lucis's blood. Special, powerful, but something big usually attract something that's also enormous, no matter it's bad or good.
There's one thing that always made Ethna feel eerie in their interaction though, and that is the fact that Charles seems to know something more than them. She felt it and she's sure that Ephemere felt the same. But they chose to ignore it anyways, embracing this moment together.
Just when It's time for Charles to go back, it's when Ethna felt like she's been woken from a dream. Suddenly she felt homesick, and want to go back where she was.
But there's a tugging feeling that made her want to stay here too. At first, she's confused but as she spends more time with him, she began to understand this new feeling that's growing the longer she stays here.
She began to care for Ephemere.
