The morning sun appeared, illuminated in my direction, and made me wake up.
It seems I accidentally fell asleep.
“Mort! Breakfast is ready!” My mother screamed from under the floor, calling me.
I started preparing; I dressed in my school uniform and bandaged my left eye around my head because I didn’t want anyone to see the state of my left eye now.
I go downstairs right away and start eating my morning food, while listening to news that doesn’t talk about anything the creature did yesterday. It seemed like the creature affected nothing around it.
“Mort!!!” Mom was surprised to see me wearing school clothes, with her hand covering her mouth. “Why are you wearing your school clothes? You should skip class today!”
Well, I know this would happen. Almost all parents do not let their children go to school a day after the accident. “It’s okay, mom; I don’t feel bad, instead I feel very good.” I tried to persuade her.
“Edward! You should have told him too... if he had better rest today!” My mother told my father where he’s still reading the newspaper.
My father took down the newspaper and glanced at me. His gaze is so creepy, as if he also won’t allow me to this school today.
For a moment he took the newspaper back and said. “He will be fine, Mary. He knows more about his own body than we do, right?” My father persuaded my mother.
I’m nodding with a smile, happy to have a father who trusts me.
My mother came up to me and pulled my head closer to her face with her hands. “How about your left eye? I thought the doctor said we could open it last night?”
“Ah… I think I will open the bandage tonight!” I’m making an excuse; I need to think about what we should do to my left eye.
She took out a sigh, released me from her both hands and returned to the kitchen saying. “Hmm, fine! Be careful outside, if you don’t feel well, go straight home! Okay?”
Because I didn’t reply, my mother then looked back at me. “OKAY?” my mother gave me a frightening look, waiting for me to answer. Her eyes are more frightening than the creature I saw yesterday.
My instincts immediately made me reply quickly to my mother. “O-Okay mom! Now I have to go to school. Bye-bye!” I’m immediately leaving the dining room.
While walking towards the door of the house. My little sister had just come down the stairs to see me. “Do you want to go to school? Just be careful!”
“Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine.” I opened my door and went to my school. It’s good to have family members worry about me.
At school, I opened the door of the classroom, a silent sound like a ghost, only one sound of footsteps coming towards me from behind. “Hey, Mort!” He shocked me and leaned his right hand behind my neck to lock me like a wrestler. “Are you feeling okay now? You made me frightened, you know!”
“Yeah-yeah, I know, I’m sorry for making you worry,” I point my finger to where my seat is. “Now just let me sit on my seat.”
He looked at where I pointed my finger. “Oh! Sorry!” He released me from his lock and noticed the bandage that covers my left eye. “What happens to your left eye?”
“Ahh... no big deal, it’s just that something hit my left eye.” I said while touching my bandage.
The bell rang! The homeroom teacher entered! All sat in their respective places right away.
I’m looking at Alp. It seems like Alp doesn’t realize that my eye color has changed. Well, the difference in the color of my previous eye with my right eye wasn’t too different.
But the problem is my left eye, the color change is very much different. I think I might as well cover using contact lenses.
Hmm... Okay! After the school hours finished, I immediately went to buy it!
“Today we have a transfer student!” This unexpected event surprised all students, making the atmosphere in the classroom filled with various types of sounds.
The homeroom teacher calls the transfer student to enter the classroom.
When the door opened, suddenly the time was very slow for me.
See one step through the door and the next step. Made me finally discover her beautiful face.
A needle pierced my heart, looking at,
Her beautiful face,
Her brown hair,
Her brown eyes,
Also, her familiar smell like rose, which carried by the wind from the open window.
Even though I have never met her, I feel something very nostalgic.
I think I’ll probably burst into tears; I realize I’m already crying. With a feeble voice, a word came out from my mouth.
“Lynn,”
One word makes our eyes meet; it looks like it’s her name. Even though I don’t know her, I just know it.
The teacher pointed out her seat, where her seat was beside me. I wiped my tears with my hand, with my face turned in the opposite direction from her.
She had seen me cry; this is so embarrassing. She sees me, notices if something happens to me. I don’t dare to see her, but I want to look at her.
“Nice to meet you, my name is Lynn Hanover,” A surprise attack came out from her mouth. The very gentle voice of her made me feel hundreds of arrows piercing my heart.
She is talking to me!
I need to reply!
I need to…
“I-I’m Mort Krueger, n-nice to meet you too!”
I finally talked to her; this has become my first conversation with her.
