Luka didn't know why she had thought it would be a good idea to run straight into the woods, even if it was to avoid Jack and his friends, because now something much worse was after her, she felt so stupid it was common knowledge in her town to not to go into the woods and no one did, not since the incident nearly twenty years ago, when three boys went into the woods and disappeared. Two days later one's body was found lying in the mud. His clothes were ripped, and he was covered in deep cuts and bite marks, his phone was also there. When an investigator looked through the pictures and what he found shocked the whole town.
The first pictures were of the boys and a few other random things, but then he started seeing something in the background, it had appeared large and wolf-like body, but then the last picture left no dought of what happened to the boys. The picture was a selfie taken by the boys but that thing was not only ten feet away. The thing had since been dubbed the Golden Wolf Devil because of the color of its head
Snap
The sound of a twig snapping sent chills down Luka's spine. She turned around slowly and let out a sigh of relief when she didn't see anything but then it leaped out of the shadows knocking and pinning her down, she could feel it's hot breath on her face.
Luka unable to take any more stress, started crying.
The creature stared down at her for a moment before moving off of her.
"Get up." He told her.
Luka set up still wiping tears from her eyes.
"What are you doing out here all alone?" He asked calmly looking her up and down, as he circled her.
Luka just stared at him in shock and fear, his body was indeed wolf-like only it was eight feet long, his tail alone was at least five feet long, his head was a wolf's skull that appeared to be made of gold, his ears were also quite large.
"Hey it's alright, it's alright." He said, walking back over to her. He sat down in front of her. "It's ok to cry." He said, nuzzling her.
Luka wrapped her arms around his neck and cried into the fur of his chest.
"Shhh shhh you're gonna be alright." He whispered.
After a couple of minutes she stopped crying.
"That's better." He whispered. "So what are you doing out here?" He asked.
"I-I was hiding from bullies but went too far back and got lost," Luka told him.
"Bullies? Why are you being bullied?" He asked.
"W-well it's this." She said, brushing hair from her face revealing a large birthmark covering her cheek and part of her neck. "I've been bullied because of it since I moved in back in third grade." She explained.
"T-thas horrible, but why didn't you tell anyone, like your parents or the principle?" He asked.
"W-well most of their parents are part of the school board, and my parents are almost never around, t-they have to work a lot and when they are home, their usually asleep," Luka said.
He could tell she was getting upset. "Hey it's ok kid, you're safe, they can't hurt you." He said soothingly. "I'll keep you safe." He said trying to comfort the girl.
"T-thank you for caring about me." She said.
"You don't need to thank me, everyone should have someone who cares about them." He said, nuzzling her again.
"My parents aren't home and they won't be in till tomorrow night, I don't know where I'm gonna go," Luka told him.
"Well how would you like to stay with me for the night, my den's not far from here, and I can show you the way out of the woods in the morning." He suggested.
"I would love that," Luka said.
It had been a little more than an hour. Luka was leaning against his side with her head resting on his shoulder, watching the moon rise.
"You know what I just realized?" He asked.
"What?" Luka asked.
"You never told me your name." He said.
"Oh, well my name's Luka and yours?" She asked.
"I don't have one." He said.
"Well people around town, t-they call you the Golden Wolf Devil," Luka said.
Suddenly Luka was on her back. The creature was standing over her. "I'll kill anyone who calls me that!" He growled in her face. He seemed to realize what he did and moved off her again. "I'm sorry." He said, and to his surprise Luka hugged him again. "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry." He said over and over again. When Luka finally fell asleep, he curled around her, his tail covering most of her body.
